I don’t think it matters if sprint is in the games or not, but that’s just me.
As much as I would love sprint to be removed let’s be real, this is 2016 and every popular game has at least hints of extended movement like Titanfall, Destiny, Cod etc. 343 and Microsoft are going to look at these games and think ‘‘Hey, these other games have gained a lot of sales and our latest game Halo 5 had advanced movement like it had. Let’s keep it so we can get more money’’ The sad truth is that Halo is now powered only by money, not the fans’ feedback.

The more fast and furious a game is the more competitive the environment is. Moving slowly to your location would not allow you to feel the “action” of the rushing into danger, blitzing a tank, or simply closing distance on someone with a weapon. In my opinion removing sprint would have a reverse effect.
Watch Halo 5 HCS and then watch Halo 3 MLG. Tell me which one you think is more fast and furious.
I aggressively grabbed the Sniper Rifle from Sword on Lockout many, many times.
Removing sprint would mean not having maps that create the illusion of speed.

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!

What is the big deal about sprint I like it
In my opinion I am fine either way. I think that the implementation of the classic art style as well as a better campaign would be more beneficial. However, assuming that sprint does stay we would need something that would provide classic gameplay for those who seek it.

Um, no, it doesn’t. It’s called “placebo effect”. Sprint slows down pacing and killtimes, and increases average match length. This is not opinion.

It’s a cool idea, but it hurts Halo’s gameplay.

So you are telling me halo 3 was a faster paced game than halo 5? Nevertheless while you are walking to the banshee I will have sprint to it already and left.

What, on Viking? It’ll take you the same amount of time to reach it while sprinting as it did to “walk” to it on Valhalla.
Maps that are scaled to sprint, that you do not constantly sprint across, cannot logically be faster paced than their classic Halo counterparts.

So you said it yourself basically. The developers will program the game to whatever the spartan can handle. Clambering, spartan charging, sliding, and sprinting. So sprints been a thing since the armor ability in halo reach right? If people are saying spartans cannot sprint then let it be so. But on the current pace of maps being bigger and bigger I choose sprint.

That wasn’t what I said. Nobody sprints everywhere, therefore the gameplay cannot be faster paced. If you can construct a syllogism that says otherwise, then I will concede.
Bigger isn’t always better, especially when that focus leads to problems with “smaller” maps.
Riftball, good.
Truth, bad.

I’m willing to bet that I know more about Halo 5’s movement system than you do.

If one is to participate in this particular debate, that is. Time and resources should not be spent on something just because it’s “not bad”. Even the “cramped” feeling is as much of an illusion as sprint making you go faster (pretty much for the same reason too).

Oh no I’m not disagreeing with you.
Im one of the most anti sprint people out there.
I was just saying, it is a fact that sprint stretches out maps, but some people prefer to play on those maps as opposed to classic style maps.

Yes that’s exactly what we are saying.
Because the maps are stretched, and Halo 5 has a slower base movement speed (walking) than halo 3, it takes about the same time to get from point a to point b.
Sprint as it is in Halo 5, is just an illusion. And that illusion seems to have worked on you.
Honestly, they make sprint a tactical factor when you’re shield doesn’t recharge when you sprint. It’s not really a big deal to most players.
