The sprint discussion thread

Meh, we all know this won’t happen though. I enjoy sprint but not all of the Spartan abilities.

People dont wanna play the old school slow style of halo because kids all have ADD now.

If H2 had sprint like Bungie originally planned people wouldn’t be -Yoinking!- about it today!

I agree with what most people are saying here: sprint needs to stay, spartan charge needs to go

If bungie planed on having sprint in H2 why wasn’t it present in H3.

They played around with it and ultimately cut it because they didn’t like its impacts on game pacing.

If Halo 2 had sprint maybe people wouldn’t be concerned with it.
If Quake never died out then maybe there’d be less military shooters and games wouldn’t have sprint to begin with.
Pondering alternate realities isn’t particularly useful here.

First I like the sprint because after killing all the enemies in one area I like to explore and with sprint it’s faster and second not everyone wants sprint gone.

If Spartans can sprint in the books, it makes sense that they can in the games. A simple ability doesn’t change whether it’s a Halo game or not.

Personally I like sprint. I’ve been playing halo since halo 2 and yes it did work without sprint but for halo 5 its kind of needed considering how big the warzone maps are, it would take longer to get to places in warzone without sprint

Sprint is faster cause the maps are bigger.

Not everyone wants it here either.

In a perfect world 343i would make two different games but unfortunately they have to make one due to money, time, and employee constraints.

Spartans can duel wield, and do flips, doesn’t mean those things are in the game or have to be. A game doesn’t have to reflect it’s fiction to the t

I don’t think the people who don’t like sprint are arguing for it to be removed in H5. That ridiculous halo 5 would be unplayable without sprint. We’re arguing for future titles.

Even ignoring sprint I still think Warzone maps are already larger than they need to be. I’m certain you could fit teams of 12 on some of the larger BTB maps.

And I think it’s kind of a dumb complaint anyways because the maps are designed to be used with vehicles and usually have an abundance of them. Like the entire point, literally the ENTIRE POINT, of the Mongoose was to allow infantry to get around BTB maps faster. It’s definitely not designed as an offensive vehicle. Next time you feel like moaning about walking on BTB maps just go do some off-roading instead. I constantly see Mongooses just collecting dust. Like -Yoink- 343i even attached guns to some of them and you still ignore them in favor of sprinting.

Who cares about no sprint how about no thrust and smart scope

Maybe have separate playlists in the future for those people who want to play without sprint?

No innovating will bring in new fans to the game. So getting rid of sprint will bring in new fans and the game will evolve

343i doesn’t want to separate the population with lots of playlists

If they do, boosting movement speed (think Doom) might make up for it, but I dig sprinting…

Makes sense, so its reduced to taking it out in future titles or leaving it in.
