The sprint discussion thread

No. Sprint is here to stay. Get used to it and adapt like everyone else has.

Games Evolve, People Evolve, every one evolves.

because if removieran the sprint halo could again be halo and I think they would support a little more or a little less like it, but thatwould be very different and “desvalanceado” that if, as with hugemaps warzone walk not also would be the best option if a waycould be implemented between running and walking think itwould be good that the player decided that … or wait but if youalready: `v

Sprint in Halo 5 has been effective in bringing a larger more active fan base into an already amazing and fun game. I agree, being able to sprint did take away the original feeling of Halo, but it has allowed more players to feel right at home, players that were often used to playing games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. A majority of the fan base that we have for this game have migrated over to Halo 5 from these games.

Ok, everybody, think about this. All games evolve as sequels come out and nothing ever stays exactly the same. Saying that taking off sprint would make Halo Halo again, just doesn’t make sense. Not having sprint didn’t make Halo, Halo. Master Chief made Halo, Halo. Covenant made Halo, Halo. The Halos made Halo, Halo. I think these are the traits that define Halo.

Furthermore,
(Going back to: Games evolve) Sure, Halo didn’t have sprint since Halo 3, but many other games didn’t either. Sprint is a new idea that most new games have taken up, and I think that by adding sprint, Microsoft has just kept Halo neck and neck with, let’s say, COD and Destiny. Say you get a player from COD who tried Halo for the first time. I am imagining a first time reaction of:

This game doesn’t have sprint? Well this just stinks.

Sprint is what is new right now. Adding sprint to Halo is what keeps Halo updated. For those thinking,
Sprint keeps Halo unique!

Being unique isn’t always a good thing. I’m sure many new programmers have made a “unique game” and nobody bought it 'cause it stunk. Halo is unique in many other ways. I’ve never seen a story and character development quite like Halo’s.

I am worried about the story, I want it to get better because I think it would make Halo better, but in no way do I see

Sprint making Halo worse.

Nope. It’s been introduced. No taking it back. Levels are built with the mechanic in mind - so it’s fine.

Can either of you make a valid argument? Because none of these speak to any of the points brought up in this thread, you could have just read the title and came in here and said what you two said. How about you read at least some of the points made and speak to them. Prove your points don’t dismise someone’s opinion because it differs from yours and respond to this thread with a hollow post.

When something evolves, it develops different traits than the others of it’s kind. That way all of it’s kind can’t be wiped out by a single change, because they’re all different. That’s evolution. It’s even reflected in modern day humans and Neanderthals and how only one of them went extinct. Halo is doing the opposite of evolution. Just like when Modern Warfare was released, it thrived and evolved, not by doing the same as another of it’s kind that was at the top of the food chain (Halo), but by evolving into something different than everything else.

Halo is not evolving.

Look at Cod now, WW2 game and now is a futuristic game that people hate now and BF1 is in WW1 instead of the present. Halo has been Evolving slowly ever since Halo 2 with Duel wielding and then jumped in Halo Reach and Halo 5 did it again but made sprint balanced.

Really? Because sales and population have only gotten lower since the inclusion of sprint.

Those people don’t need to play Halo, there is a reason games play and look different. It’s to build their own community, I don’t want halo to be a game cod players come to when they need a break from cod. I want halo to be it’s own game. Anyone who picks up an fps and expects it to have sprint is kinda disappointing. There are plenty of games that don’t have sprint and have thriving communities. Why can’t halo be one of them again?

I don’t know if we can go back. It would be very weird if we did though.

If the removal of sprint made Halo awesome, then everyone would play the MCC, despite its flaws.

Funny you should mention dual-wielding, considering it’s been gone for three consecutive games. It was a mechanis they tried to make work, but ultimately realized that it wasn’t beneficial to gameplay.

Just as Spartans are able to sprint, they are canonically able to dual-wield. It was still removed for the betterment of Halo’s gameplay. The same could be realized for Sprint.

No because it’s flaws are unacceptable for any game. The game still crashes and because of its failure of a launch no one bought it the holiday that followed it’s release. The phrase “quit the build” is still uttered to this day when I hop on it.

Sprint in halo is cool

What if they actually added duel wielding the Brute Plasma Rifle and SMG and can Sprint and can do the other Spartan abilities. You would be the Ultimate Spartan.

SaneMountain, are you familiar with what the Golden Triangle is?

No, what’s that? is it PC game or something?

I personally prefer sprint like in Breakout and it helps a lot in the game and also we can make Parkour maps too with the new sprint ability so I would like to keep it.
