You know what. I dont care about halo 6 anymore. I do this because I want to teach people whats right and tell them what they are doing wrong. And oh boy there are a lot of people that are wrong here. But as long as there is people like you motivating me. I will still do it. Thank you.

Take out clamber and ground pound too.
I want crouch jumping back, and I dont want someone punching me in the face, coming from the sky.

Keep sprint

Anytime. I still care for Halo 6, and want it to get back on track heading in the right direction. However, theres still alot of work to reach that goal.

Also agree to this. Crouch jumping was one of the most fun things i had back in Halo 3, never felt the necessity to have a clamber ability in Halo. About ground pound and spartan charge, no need to explain why those are garbage.

Thanks for providing a clear justification and detailed reasons why you would keep sprint.

343, I don’t own a xbox, but please give me a reason to do so, if you are reading this, please say something, I want to be convinced that you are reading these forums.

I mean they read almost every big thread but they don’t comment on them because they don’t want to take sides, for if they do, they might receive more than enough toxicity to bring down halo, so in a short answer, they’re being smart

He’s pretty much right, other than just putting updates on here, they very rarely directly talk to people on these threads. I’d find it easier to understand their reasonings and such for how their games play if they were ever willing to directly talk to us.

This came up on my youtube feed

such tactical game play. Super intense, fast…and it wouldn’t be possible if sprint was present

I’ve probably watched it a billion times now.
Such great pacing and fun. I miss the good ol’ days.
Oh wait, no I don’t. I still play H2 project cartographer on my PC!

Much better than running around in circles all game like in Halo 5.

true. Its interesting to look at the decline in popularity and the correlation with the how games have deviated from the originals. Each sequel added and changed thing, but it wasnt until Reach that things went down hill.

It would be equally interesting to see what a no-sprint modern halo is like. Will it feel like classic? Will it appeal to a wide audience? I wonder what 343 will do.

personally, I would see campaign go more rpg like a borderlands/destiny/division. I would want two multiplayer modes- class based mayhem using campaign characters (maybe for firefight?) and classic arena halo more akin to Halo 2 and 3.

> The new sprinting system needs to stay in Halo because times have changed and gaming is not what it use to be, if other shooter games didnt implement the sprinting system in the past then Halo would of stayed the same because Halo would of had no other movement mechanics to compete against, but because times have changed most games have evolved from their original state, Halo had to take that change in order to be a relevant game, and please dont Say"iv played Halo since Halo CE and that was a great game without sprinting" i would say true but that’s because times where different back then for games. Halo needs to keep its modern element or its going to be regarded as a old shooter with nothing new to it except its story and graphics. Halo has taken this change for the better because i feel like iv had the most fun with Halo 5 compared to other Halo games.

Two words…

Over
Watch

Everything in that game feels completely intentional. So much that not having sprint really opens up design spaces… And so we have Lucio.

its not that halo cant have sprint, but I dont think 343 did enough to make everything work with real intent and as a cohesive whole… Which is sad because I love h5 gameplay, just cant much stand the game.

I agree. Ironically, campaign is being greatly held back by multiplayer. Chief going AWOL could have been an amazing setup for a fallout-type of game, where you can fully explore a Halo ring, or a shield world, or the ark or even the forerunner capital. You scrounge for weapons and ammo, taking them apart and putting them back together again. Ironically, this would have made it possible for weapon hybrids like the ones that got introduced in warzone, i.e. UNSC weapons with covenant visors, scoped ARs, bayonets on rifles, etc. Then chief uses components to modify his Mjolnir similarly to how Jorge did, making it possible to add player skills and traits. Possibilities are endless, but either the game needs to ship without a multiplayer component altogether, disregard the mantra of “seamless transition”, or just go the MMO way and let unequal player characters duke it out, regardless of customization…

But I digress. This is a topic for another thread entirely…

Bungie did it.

Community interaction is probably the one thing 343 has the hardest time keeping up on taking over for bungie. Bungie.net had such a community feel. Waypoint feels like an afterthought.
