Well if they don’t think sprint’s a problem, then it’s not a problem for them. You can’t make them accept something they don’t believe.

Yes, they may argue against other people who believes the opposite. However, comments like “Go play MCC”, “Go play Destiny”, “I like sprint”, “Halo needs to evolve”, “Halo needs to stay relevant”, “Sprint makes you move faster”, etc. are the ones who revived this thread and kept it alive. Some people even stated they never need any reason why they think sprint is good for Halo while they ask reasons for why people hate sprint and think it is bad for Halo. When they said things like “I hate sprint”, people jumped on that person and called “hater” and begged them to give reason why, while they never gave reason.

> This subject is rather touchy, and highly subjective. Others view sprinting as a detriment to an otherwise optimal system, and others thing contrary. However, in Halo 5 they implemented further use for sprint (Spartan charge, that is). Although traditionally Halo did not have sprint, it is a feature that they have placed in the game and there is a place for it in the more modern games. Looking back at halo 3, it was rather slow paced. You had your Primary weapon, secondary weapon, a wide verity of grenades, and a large selection of equipment (e.x Bubble shield, Regeneration field, ect.) And the combination of those features made the game play interesting. But the game does need to evolve, and what better way to do that then implementing small and convenient features that keep the game play interesting. However displeasing my opinion may be to some, just hold on for a moment. Sprinting speeds up a traditionally rather sluggish game play (And that is not bad.) into a very fast paced game. But the sprint and thrust pack does add more options when it comes to tactical maneuvers. It makes it easier to flank enemies, and retreat when necessary. Another note; Sprinting in a slayer match will decrease your performance, as it does take time for you to stop and raise your weapon. But that is just my opinion. Further thoughts?
Neither Halo 2 nor Halo 3’s gameplay was slow. The remake of Ivory Tower in Reach was slow. Truth, in Halo 5, is slow. Halo evolved from Halo 2 to Halo 3, and there was major community backlash when Reach came out. So what did 343i do? They completely changed the gameplay for Halo 4, and when that didn’t work, they changed it in a different way in Halo 5. The pace of classic Halo’s gameplay was just fine, I’m sick of all the CoD fanboys saying otherwise. I didn’t need sprint to coordinate with my team in order to flank, I used my knowledge of game mechanics and map design to do that. Retreat? Yeah, why should someone be punished for making a mistake? That would be competitive or something. Sprint is not the only direction in which Halo can evolve. What happened to BXR, doubleshots, and quadshots? Sure, they were unintentional, but they took real skill to pull off. Thrusting behind cover when you’re being out-BRed, doesn’t.
Sprint is bad because it has changed Halo’s solid map design. That is a fact.

It’s already split. This won’t split it anymore than it already is.

Armor Abilities were a good idea on paper. Evade probably had the most versatility, and was definitely the most broken. I mostly played Firefight in Reach, until Halo CE: Anniversary came out.
Anyway, using that same logic, Bungie put dual-wielding into the game, so it should’ve stayed, right?

There is no compromise for those who want it 100% out of the game. They are the ones who need to compromise he most, because as it stands now, sprint is staying in the game.

Why they need to compromise the most? When another side never even try to explain why they like sprint and think sprint is good for Halo?

By that logic, Halo should be game without sprint because original games had no sprint. It is funny that people still try to defend sprint desperately by using illogical argument.

The MCC was a disaster, yo. Halo 2: Anniversary as a stand-alone title would’ve embarrassed Halo 4.

> @ those saying how halo is copying other games movements, so did CE…and 2…and 3. You peope ever played quake? Unreal? Seriously, halos movements have never been a unique innovation that was never done before. It’s perfectly fine to dislike halos new movements, but don’t just say that it’s now copying other games when that’s how halo was made up to begin with lol. Halo gained traction because on the console itself, it was different but also perfected used mechanics better than others. But the original concept of its movement, was not different nor unheard of.
Except Halo’s gameplay isn’t like Quake or UT. Loadouts and perks weren’t perfected in Halo 4. Movement in Halo 5 is unbalanced, even with sprint providing certain limitations. Classic Halo had solid gameplay.

They need to compromise for the same reason why many people never explain why they like sprint: sprint isn’t going anywhere. We don’t need to convince anyone that sprint should be in halo, because it’s already in halo and it’s not going anywhere. You guys are the ones who make it good for both sides. I’m just trying to get to a compromise so everyone will shut up about this. I’ll be fine if sprint stays how it is.

Plus, in terms of lore, wouldn’t it make sense that over the years in the halo universe, wouldn’t it make sense to further improve the spartan armor by giving spartans the ability to move around faster making them even more dangerous than they already were?

Seriously, halos movements have never been a unique innovation that was never done before. It’s perfectly fine to dislike halos new movements, but don’t just say that it’s now copying other games when that’s how halo was made up to begin with lol. Halo gained traction because on the console itself, it was different but also perfected used mechanics better than others. But the original concept of its movement, was not different nor unheard of.

> Yeah admittingly that point was pretty stupid. But I really don’t see why sprint is a big as an issue as people are making out to be to be honest. I don’t see a problem with halo adding sprint. The way i mainly see it used is to just get back into the action, run away from being shot, and the occasional spartan charge. So, what’s the issue?
The issue is that it makes the gameplay unbalanced and ruins map design. Halo already had multiple movement speeds depending on how much pressure you put on the analog stick. Sprint is unnecessary and detrimental to the even playing field that was present in previous Halo titles.

> Except Halo’s gameplay isn’t like Quake or UT. Loadouts and perks weren’t perfected in Halo 4. Movement in Halo 5 is unbalanced, even with sprint providing certain limitations. Classic Halo had solid gameplay.
I agree it had solid game play but you’re talking about a game that is 15 years old. If we had the same game now as then we would all be -Yoinking!- about it being that it hasn’t changed enough and they (343 and Bungie) aren’t even trying. Much like people are -Yoinking!- because the game is “too different” now. Point is no game will be perfect. People will still find something to complain about. If you think it (whatever “it” is) is perfect but I might think it’s terrible and vice versa.
