but sprint is suppose to help us and it should be destiny 5 but anyways with these new abilities that sprint gave us look at what we made with it like deathrun as a example(not a really good example)why remove it if it will affect all the maps we made just for sprinting that people worked so hard on you really want to take this all away?

I think he means it shouldn’t be included in Halo 6, not remove it from Halo 5.

Well I’m not saying play the MCC…I agree it was a disaster

oh ok got it.

What if Spartan Charge is a natural evolution of melee?

Is there any evidence to support the claim that sprint, clamber, GP, charge, slide and thruster pack add depth to the gameplay? Because there is evidence that slide, charge, thruster and sprint take away from the games depth. If they don’t add anything to the actual depth, why are they in the game?

What is termed and deemed comepetive is a grey area sometimes. The more options u have, do not remove how competive something is. Or atleast thats my opinion.

So what you are saying is that Halo needed to replace NINETY-FIVE THOUSAND people for 30,000? So there is evidence of Halo 5 dying, should Halo change back to the Halo 3 style of play?

For instance, on May 4th it’s at 181,169, then at 5th at 43,977, and on 8th it says just 26,202. That said, the URLs do give the exact time stamp of the snapshot, but it’s kind of a pain to get useful information out of this. Unless you happen to have compiled it all into a database for whatever reason.

Unfortunately we do not have any concrete evidence as to why halo 5 is failing to maintain its population compared to h3, a mix of many things I am sure. All we can do is speculate and the obvious thing to look at is gameplay. Considering we have documented evidence that gameplay changes to an established tittle can negatively effect its player base it is no surprise that we end up drawing the conclusion that this might have something to do with it.

I would argue that the MCC launch, microtransactions and the removal of splitscreen did more to hurt H5 than sprint. I think we need to first fix those things and then on take out sprint. That being said, if H6 has sprint I might not be buying it. So I’m sure that they lost some sales on sprint, but I don’t think that it is the primary reason H5 is failing to maintain a good population.

No, no it isn’t.
If anything it’s a devolution of it

This will result in your already established user base to drop significantly. This is Product Management 101. Also by being as close to COD, BF, etc. as possible you start to lose the identity of why a franchise was so popular. Just something to think about.

Halo 5 has been out for 10 or so months and is roughly estimated at 20,000-30,000.

Sprint is definitely one of the reasons why halo is dying at a quick rate

My issue here isn’t sprint, I honestly like sprint and I believe it can work within Halo. The problem is 343 were releasing maps that were a bit to small for sprint and thrusters. To be honest with you Sprint can work perfectly if it has a risk when it comes to gameplay. When you are sprinting and you stop there should be a small delay before you can shoot. This will give those who don’t sprint an advantage when it comes to gun battles and would encourage more people to walk instead of run and gun.
Halo 5 was a utter failure because although shields do not recharge the spartan charge makes noobs win majority of their duals because they run and charge into people. Spartan charge isn’t a normal melee and when you are hit you loose all shielding and majority of your hp.
Ground pound is also unnecessary and isn’t Halo, along with slide and stabilize. Only reason why I say clamber can stay is because throughout all of the Halo games in the campaign marines, grunts, and other AI’s can climb up onto things so why cant we?
Halo can work with sprint it is the other spartan abilities that really destroy the game. Along with no splitscreen, lacklucter campaign, missing content, bug filled UI and gametypes.

you two know that games don’t grow on trees and are allways a product of some peoples creativity/mind right? there is no such thing as “natural evolution” in gaming, it’s all artificial…

tbh I think that the sprint should stay full stop…but it you shouldn’t run really fast but at a decent pace now that would be fair

How so?
It’s melee, tied to the sprint mechanic and has the additional trait of also knocking the target back a significant distance.

And you do realise that I’m trying to fish contradiction or double standard out of him so he himself perhaps realise what his words mean to others?

I certainly do not agree with the usage of evolution in gaming, or rather, when it is used in the sense that the previous stuff was primitive, or in some way more negative than what has emerged later.

Um no it won’t.
Sprint has a fundamental flaw, and that fundamental flaw comes from the faster movement speed sprint brings. What’s the point of moving while walking, when I can get their faster with sprint?
Don’t tell me, people who walk have an advantage because they are ready.
No they don’t, they never do. People who sprint, run up to you, do a double melee and run off. Sprint, allows for bigger jump trajectory and that also means they can bounce like a rabbit when encountering an enemy.
Sprint has to go, has no place in halo.
Halo was perfect without it!
Look at halo 3! By 2008 halo 3 sold 12 Million copies!!
And retained a population of over 500K after a year, and halo 5 can’t even keep up to 40K.
