The sprint discussion thread

That’s not down to sprint. Removing sprint won’t make Halo what it used to be. Removing 343I’s bad story will. In all honesty, I love sprint, and I’ve been with Halo since 2001, so I’m not just some new age, 343 loving fanboy.

So?
Removing all of the things 343 have done bad will make halo great again, and ONE of those problems is sprint, so let’s get rid of sprint.

Sprint shouldn’t be in the game.
Pro-sprinters please learn why it is better to play without sprint, as it provides a much better experience.

I do tend to side with the for sprint and players who prefer it. Mainly because it has been in Halo long enough it probably should stay. There isn’t a herd of players out there sitting around waiting for sprint to be removed and they will start playing again. Adding sprint didn’t single handedly drop the Halo population. Multiple factors did from simply players going to other games(most of which have sprint) or simply just not gaming any more. Removing it may hurt the population more because I bet the majority of players playing now have been playing Halo longer with sprint. I also like how the players who prefer sprint are less yoinks about it. I see recent anti sprinters say oh there isn’t a good reason why to have it… hate to tell you simply liking it IS a good enough reason. It all boils down to opinion no matter how long winded your reason for not liking it is. One person said sprinting is the same speed as the base movement of HCE-3…haha you are joking right? Go back to MCC, load up Valhalla and walk around the map then load up ragnarok and sprint around the map… if you think you navigate the maps at the same speed you have zero concept of speed or distance. Sprinting allows players to navigate maps faster. It adds a bit of realism aka immersion to the game.

Thanks for proving my point on how anti sprinters act.

Look bro, this “toxic” and “elitist” attitude doesn’t help us. You make all of us anti-sprinters look bad. If pro-sprinter sees this he will not change his mind. You are giving them reasons to hate us. So please, use logic and good arguments against sprint, because I know they exist.

When I say that, I mean obviously when Spartan Charge isn’t put into play because, be honest, who actually likes being Spartan Charged? Anyway, if you’re over a melee distance away, not sprinting actually makes it easier to aim quicker, get control quicker and deal possibly life saving damage in the time it takes for the other person to notice you and stop sprinting. If you read this, try it out maybe once or twice and see if you agree with what i’m talking about.

I didn’t mean it in the sense of getting around faster, i’m talking about not sprinting gives an advantage to matched fights. If two people come across one another with BRs, one sprinting, the other not, the one who isn’t sprinting will have just a little more time to react and aim than the one who was sprinting.

Not sure if you’re trollin, but I can’t put a reason behind fun.

I could never ever explain why i think football and wrestling are fun. Those 2 sports just click inside my brain and I get a joy out of playing them. And I think that’s the way it’s suppose to be, the second you need a reason behind why anything is fun for you. I believe that’s when it officially stops being fun

sprint works well in large maps and should be incorporated into multiplayer, but I agree that it shouldn’t be used in campaign since you shouldn’t rush through the main story an should actually get to spend more time taking in the story.

I have and I have used them to death, people still make excuses why they should be in the game

In large maps we can have teleporters, man cannons, lifts etc.
We honestly can replace sprint quite easily.

> arena multiplayer at first I thought a no sprint playlist might be optimal but hear me out. I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!
> Thoughts? :3

I would like to keep sprint in campaign, because I have been playing Halo since the first one. And the levels that were big, I would always feel like, why is there no sprint? It would take a long time just to get form A to B.

Alright, well take a break. You don’t have to respond to every pro-sprinter. But please don’t make these kinds of posts. LoveU

I am not really a pro sprinter… as I clearly state I like Halo either way. It’s not game breaking for me. I just feel removing it would hurt more than keeping it as most who play Halo now have always had it. Players won’t return in droves just because it’s removed. Also I stand by my opinion that it is all opinion whether it belongs in Halo or not.

still, sprint isn’t bad, it means I can get to cover quickly rather than slowly walking over to cover

This forum post has been on the top for months, omg lol. Why don’t we all just stop commenting so it goes away!

Can’t even think of a reason as to why it’s fun. I can’t say I’m surprised.

You probably should’ve stayed away from this thread, because the pro-sprint crowd that are actually discussing this are explaining themselves a lot better than you. You’re making it look like they’re completely clueless. You don’t know why it’s fun, which means you can’t even be sure you would dislike the removal of sprint.

Here’s the thing. That’s your opinion there and thousands of halo players that disagree and there are thousands of players that agree. However, you don’t get to tell people what they think would peovide a begter experience. Go play halos CE-reach
