I’m probably over thinking it maybe but the changes I mentiond didn’t show until sprint was added permently and no I have not played halo 5 in a while or do much of ranking because I only play game nights with friends and I also have jclc to prepare for today is my only break and I played a bit of halo wars 2 and played some halo 5 got a hold of one of my developer friends and asked why halo feels so different he told me the posabilities that are highly likely to have been affected by sprint

Why is this thread getting so much popular? its just Sprint there might be some gameplay changes but they don’t really change Halo.

Thank you, I really can’t fathom why this topic has been such a hot ussue, but I do understand where some people are coming from. I feel the anti sprinters may be stuck in the past, though.

Because whether you realize it or not it actually changes Halo quite a bit.
And as I said earlier, remain consistent. If sprint wasn’t such a big deal then people wouldn’t be so vividly demanding for it to stay in the game. Please stop trying to pull the “le it’s just a game ecks-dee” card.

The proof is in the link in this post I made to you last week. Scroll down and read the Spartan abilities section. There you will see the poll 343 did in the user feedback program were only 11% were strongly against sprint. I think 11% of 100% makes anti sprinters the minority.
Note: I believe it says something like 19,000 people participated in that poll.

Yeah, you’d think that by now that given how we’ve been having this debate for 6 years and even 343 claim to have been split on the decision for Halo 5, that maybe some people would realize there’s more to this issue even if they don’t understand it.

At this point, I can’t tell if this post is a joke or legitimate. That’s how dumb pro-sprint posts can get around here.
I think making a separate gametype that’s competitive without sprint would be the better way to go. But I still think fast pace Halo(sprint) is still very enjoyable even though its different from other Halo games.

I didn’t mean to offend anyone with this comment, but all I’ve been picking up is, “It wasn’t in the old Halos, so it’s bad”.
If they made a game with Halo 3’s weapon balance I could care less if there was sprint or not. I just miss the old game play style… where you didn’t just run around the map looking for the closest automatic.

> Everyone needs to be able to sprint guys how could you want to take it off thats cra cra !!! Halo 5 mechanics are EPICLY AWSOME and revolutionized the halo tournament scene ! ADD MORE ÷!STOP TAKING THINGS OFF!!
Why? All sprint does is trade off your damage dealing capability for additional movement speed. I don’t see why that trade-off is something every game needs to have.
In many no-sprint games you’re already “sprinting”…you’re just doing it with weapon access and in all directions as well.

> > The vocal minority? Whew boy. You’re just full of logical fallacies. Let’s assume you’re right. Because Halo 5 shipped well less than half the copies Halo 3 did and the majority of the people who dislike sprint are not playing Halo anymore. I suppose you would prefer to pretend that the dwindling population of this game is not a problem? You really think it’s a good argument that the people who haven’t quit Halo entirely are mostly the people who tolerate the unnecessary “evolution” of the series? Change is not inherently progress. It is not inherently good. And Halo being at an all time low in terms of cultural relevance, reputation, and population makes a pretty strong argument that this “vocal minority” of which you speak is just a minority of the already small number of people who care enough to talk about this game. Not a minority of Halo players overall. Just keep at your apologetics, though, if it makes you feel better.
>

> Look at sales for any franchise that has existed for as long as halo has: Diablo, World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, just to name a few that you may recognize. Do you know what a bell chart is? Have you ever taken a statistics course in your life? When people bring up the “Halo 3 had more sales!!” argument, I can’t help but lose respect for you.
What on earth do you think a bell curve has to do with the poor sales of this series? Statistics course? And then you mention a bunch of much more successful franchises that are in no way suffering from the same problems? Diablo 3 sold over 20 million by the end of 2014. The Elder Scrolls is pretty much at peak popularity, with Skyrim being its most successful entry. It ALSO sold over 20 million copies. What point do you think you’re making here? The decline in sales, popularity, and population for the Halo franchise DIRECTLY correlates to the addition of new mechanics inspired by other games. Is that a coincidence? Are you suggesting that this is just the standard trajectory of long-time series by pointing out series that are doing far better? What the -Yoink-?
