CS:GO is almost exactly like CS 1.6. There were some improvements, but the fundamentals of the game haven’t changed. Again why was COD so popular for 6+ years? Because the game hardly changed. You don’t want to release the exact same product over and over again, but you make a game with improvements and add somethings that positively add to the established experience.

Amen to that Bro. That is PURE TRUTH.

> > What makes you think a game will sell more by becoming like other games? History has shown that the most successful games are very different than their competition, particularly when it comes to shooters. Halo 1-3, CoD4, Gears of War, Destiny, Overwatch, Counter Strike. These all differed wildly from what else was on the market and because of that they all enjoyed huge success and not at the expense of other popular franchises. Modern Warfare and Halo 3 were both top games at the same time. And right now CoD, Destiny and Overwatch are all very popular games, so it’s not like one game being really popular will keep others from reaching similar success. CoD didn’t become popular by trying to become Halo and Overwatch didn’t become popular by trying to become CoD.
> > If 343 wants the sell the game, trying to pander to a different audience will not help them and, as has been shown, will instead hurt them. But I think the unfortunate reality is that this is a franchise that too many people at 343 don’t want to work on. If it was, they wouldn’t be trying to make it something else.

> I didn´t say Halo has to be like other games, i just try to compare to the likeness of the genre, make Halo 4 like Halo 3 will be boring, and like COD 343 improve different methods to do that difference that you are talking.
> In reference i love to play Gears Of War, and i hated GOW Judgment just because it doesn’t feels like Gears anymore, now i know you can broke a great game like Gears Of War by doing that and that’s something that i don’t want for Halo. Trust me it is not funny bro.

Making Halo 4 like Halo 3 wouldn’t necessarily make it boring and there’s no reason to think it would be. Fun gameplay is fun gameplay, you just need to improve and refine it.

You say you didn’t like GoW Judgement because it didn’t feel like Gears anymore. I believe a lot of people felt the same way. I don’t know if you knew this, but the MP Designer for Judgement was also the MP Designer for Halo 5, so it should be an understandable complaint when people say the same thing about Halo 5 as they did about Judgement: that it doesn’t feel like Halo in a lot of aspects.

How many halo games with sprint have to bomb out population wise before 343 realise that the pro sprint in halo people are the vocal minority?

Nothing wrong with sprint

until it becomes a NEED instead of a want for change

Yes.

The fact is that sprint was an addition to the game that has not been proven to be bad for game play.

All games need additions to keep them from getting left behind. And that is a fact.

Enjoy sprint in H6.

No. It means halo needs to add to the game, or it becomes nothing more than NBA or and NFL game. New names on top of old skins.

I know. Too bad we just don’t have the energy to read any of the dozens of good and intelligent points made by the anti- sprint players.

Wrong. Again.

Our established base is dying as the H1-H3 generation is all older and playing less. They need to replace the loss of original players with new players. You don’t do that by recycling the same mechanics.

I know. It only had less sales than H4, Reach, H3, H2 and CE(kind of). Didn’t its population drop under MCC? After the MCC had been out a year longer, had terrible launch, still contains glitches and H5 had that free trial thing. But, yeah… H5 totally didn’t fail…

It did though. It failed to retain a large enough player base to effective make their ranking system work properly. How is that not failing? Sure the game sold 5 million copies and has made $500 million, but the game is a failure at providing content, variation, and uniqueness.

Is this true? I mean, H3 sold more that H2, which sold more than CE. We started losing sales when we started stealing all these gimmicks from other games.

You didn’t say how sprint is good for Halo.

That still doesn’t classify as a failure. It just has low sales when compared to other halos. And you can’t pin that on game play alone, you don’t know if was because of MCC online failures. I almost didn’t buy H5 because of it.

It’s also just all of you old anti-sprint grandpas that have your wheel chair gang causing a ruckus at the senior center trying to pin the low sales on sprint and that fact that you can’t split screen on your tube tv before your 4:00 dinner and pills.

But I did, it was an addition that hasn’t been proven to negatively affect game play. That’s the point of additions.

Is there any evidence that the established fanbase is dying out at any significant rate due to just being unable to play?

I personally know six people that are all adults with jobs, and some with kids, that were/are Halo fans that don’t play Halo these days simply because they’re spending their time playing other games because they don’t think Halos that good anymore. That’s anecdotal, but if you have any actual evidence, it would be appreciated if you shared.

Not being bad doesn’t automatically make it good. Am I to assume you can’t actually give any factual reasons as to why it’s good?

Anecdotes are all anyone has because no one has actually gone out there and done a proper survey. That’s why anyone who thinks they know the reason Halo has become less popular over the years is lying to themselves. Same goes for the people who think one reason is significantly more likely than all others. In reality, we just don’t know.

How am I wrong? You haven’t provided any proof. You claim the Halo CE-3 generation was dying.

My counter argument. On March 31, 2009, Halo 3 had 95,000 players. This is about a year and a half after launch. Halo 5 has been out for 10 or so months and is roughly estimated at 20,000-30,000. So what you are saying is that Halo needed to replace NINETY-FIVE THOUSAND people for 30,000? So there is evidence of Halo 5 dying, should Halo change back to the Halo 3 style of play?

What you are saying just isn’t adding up and you are trying to tell me I am wrong? lol

Also on May 29, 2009, Halo 3 had 143,000 players.
