The sprint discussion thread

Yes.
Reach got No-Bloom, No-AA and No-Loadout Playlists.
Halo 4 in the MCC does not feature any ordnance.
Killcams were removed after they got flak during the Beta.

The only game that changed team before fixes were implemented was Reach. Are you new to this?

the allusion of not being slow that’s all sprint is the halo maps have had to be bigger to accommodate for this so now we have halo maps that have lost their feel we couldn’t have splits screen because sprint was priority for 60 frames per second so now we have lost the origality of the halo series also the maps have had to change to sprint we lost 5v5 in team slayer to sprint fan favorite creations from forge have to be changed so they lose their originality as well for instance any vetrans of the series feel that sandtrap isn’t sandtrap besides the elephants the main reason I bought halo combat evolve was to play campaign with my little brother at the time coming back to the series this honestly dosent feel like halo to me you cant play spitscreen the maps are big and awkard you cant play as eleits or any other alien character and why is that halo wars 2 feels like halo wars with a fun twist (yes I know its a beta I meant so far) and it was made by the people who gave you total war. 343 was made by Microsoft for halo games to study the success of the other titles and make games similar that didn’t feel to different now what makes me think how we got halo 4 is the focus groups were like we rock at cod but suck at this and they wanted a cod halo we all know how that went down any one who plays cod can tell you its hard to get a kill in the original halo games than it is in cod titles
SO JUST ONE COD FEATURE HAS MADE US LOSE THIS MUCH WHAT DO YOU THINK WELL LOSE IF THEY ADD MORE

I like the sprint. It should stay.

you have go to be kidding sprint goodish

why do you like sprint

Sprint has to go, never belonged in Halo and never will, the combat flows far better without it

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!

There is no reason to be in this thread if you’ve never played h5, in the end it comes down to the fact that non sprinters have relevant arguments where people that like sprint just say " because sprint is good" if your going to make an argument at least have an argument

Hey real quick, I just saw this while looking through the website, BTB was not originally part of the core game? I only played WZ and WZA for the majority, only switching to Arena for rage-induced FFA matches. Wow that’s kind of sad.

> But please, seeing as you disagree and think we’re too deep in, please elaborate how “we’re too deep in”.

Heh.

Do you even sprint bruh?

> The only game that changed team before fixes were implemented was Reach. Are you new to this?

Ugh, another naysayer that doesn’t actually play the game.

When you purists start whining about sprint and the other abilities, you just come across as old guys afraid of change. Evolve or get left behind. I’m really getting sick of all these threads. If you’re so disgusted with Halo and the direction it’s going, stop playing it. Seriously. Stop buying it. Stop playing. Stop coming to the forums posting the same nonsense over and over. The best way to get your point across would be to round up and organize the rest of the purists and boycott the game.

Lol, wow, anti-sprint does not equate to refusing to use it outright. Especially when playing a game specifically designed around these mechanics. For your next reply could you actually provide a constructive argument as to why “this guy stinks” and why sprint should be in Halo? What does it actually improve on? People keep saying it makes the game faster. Though I wholeheartedly believe that to be an absolute misconception, does faster equate to being better? And could there not be ways to enhance the speed and pace of the game without sprint? Upping the base speed, making smaller maps, mancannons, vehicles, all these things do the same thing sprint does, or is supposed to do, without the negative aspects that it also brings. And it also forces 343i, as a developer, to not be lazy and actually come up with new and creative solutions.

Honestly, I didn’t know that sprint was this big of a deal. Hasn’t really changed gameplay for me that much. I feel shippers of both sides might be over thinking this a little.

It’s not a big deal. The 3 or so people writing walls of text in this thread don’t actually play Halo 5.

If you guys feel really passionately about this feel free to head over and join in on this poll. The more people take part the more accurate it will be.

Then why are you still in here? It’s not a big deal, then this thread should not appear in your eyes. But you want to get into it with people who are genuinely upset by it’s addition and make them feel sore because of your “this is how it’s going to be from now on” mentality? Well I guess I took the bait.

I’m short two games of 1000 matches in Halo 5 and I can tell you Halo 5 would benefit more than anything with the removal of sprint, and revert to higher walking speed/jump heights. I didn’t care to charge or slide or pound, I just needed to get 4 shots with a magnum and then punch the enemy Spartan through the face. Why did that need to evolve?

Here’s a better question, if they removed sprint, would you still be playing Halo 5/6? Answer me and then we’ll talk.

We’re discussing Sprint in Halo 5. Can you please stop trying to talk about dual wielding in halo 4, or speculating on halo 6?

My point, which you seem to agree with, is that we’re too far deep to have sprint removed from Halo 5. Our opinions just differ on whether or not that is a good thing
