Also Halo needs to evolve and stay relevant!

Also known as Halo needs to be like other shooters that nobody will find interesting and distinct thing from Halo.

He won’t because he can’t, otherwise he would have said it already. It’s ignorance at its purest.

Just in case though I’ll quote him again. “Sprints in reach, h4, and h5, it’ll be in h6, FACT!”. I’m calling it.

If sprint is in Halo 6, it will fail just like Halo 4 and 5 did. I am calling it now.

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!

Sounds familiar doesn’t. It happens to all of us. Halo without Sprint took forever and you had no evade options. In reality the game matured along with the capabilities of the players.

That’s because Halo was intended to be a futuristic yet old school game without sprinting and the movement speed being strafing instead

It could but it all depends on how it’s done. Even if h6 lacks sprint it doesn’t just guarantee a rise in halo. There’s many other things to take into consideration besides just one mechanic effecting the game. “if” they keep sprint in h6, I wonder what they’ll do to it this time as every game that has had sprint keeps getting more panalties punishing the user, that shows 343 KNOWS there are people who don’t like it and they attempted a compromise. Will they attempt to fix some of the effects sprint has in h6? From my view they can make it more tolerable by letting the players fire while sprinting while getting better map creators to at least mask the map elongation, it can be done but it distill doesn’t remove the full effect sprint has. I’d be surprised if they remove sprint but I imagine they’re still sticking with it but trying to find another way to compromise for those who don’t like it. Eventually they’ll run out of ideas for a compromise and then I really wonder what they’ll do.

Halo is a work of a great team, the hard work of 343 let´s us enjoy great gameplay, you can´t say what to keep and what to delete; that is not how games like Halo works.

If you like Halo w/sprint good for you, if you don´t good for you, but in my opinion remove or put more of other previous halo games doesn’t make it more or less “HALO HALO”

At the end you have to sell the game, and 343 make it for, even for people from Call of Duty, Battlefield, Titanfall, etc.

I don’t use it to run away, but personally, i prefer to be an armor ability than a permanent use thing.

If it does it’ll be a used, sale, or bargain bin purchase for me and that will only be so I can see how this trilogy wraps up.

No, but that is how feedback works, which is what forums and stuff are for. Also 343 being great is subjective. They delivered a mediocre main entry in Halo 4 which rattled confidence, knowingly released a broken port in the MCC and have released Halo 5, which is also polarizing and has an awful campaign. Say what you will but they are a painfully average dev group at best if you ask me.

Making your game different sells it, not copying mechanics. Doom enjoyed the spotlight for being different as has Overwatch. The problem.with copying mechanics is you may get the initial sell, but people then just leave the game anyway because the game they came from does it better. It is inherently flawed logic that Halo 4 as an example proves flawlessly.

Yeah, those people have a bad habit of forgetting that the last six years happened. So, to them, keeping sprint would indicate a lack of change because apparently Halo 3 is the last game they remember.

Pretty much this. X1000.
It would seem at this point in time a game without sprint would be exactly what the “we can’t have the same game every year” would want.

I’m convinced that most people that want sprint to stay, are either A. New fans or B. We’re complete garbage at the older games and need a mechanic to keep up with good players.

I respect your point of view, but all those things aren’t right just because you say it. Peace Bro.

By selling a game you sell it to your old audience and try to attract new audiences. You do not market and create a game to attract new audiences. This will result in your already established user base to drop significantly. This is Product Management 101. Also by being as close to COD, BF, etc. as possible you start to lose the identity of why a franchise was so popular. Just something to think about.

By removing sprint, Halo will evolve. It has been 6 years with sprint, time for Halo to evolve. Who else agrees?

What makes you think a game will sell more by becoming like other games? History has shown that the most successful games are very different than their competition, particularly when it comes to shooters. Halo 1-3, CoD4, Gears of War, Destiny, Overwatch, Counter Strike. These all differed wildly from what else was on the market and because of that they all enjoyed huge success and not at the expense of other popular franchises. Modern Warfare and Halo 3 were both top games at the same time. And right now CoD, Destiny and Overwatch are all very popular games, so it’s not like one game being really popular will keep others from reaching similar success. CoD didn’t become popular by trying to become Halo and Overwatch didn’t become popular by trying to become CoD.

If 343 wants to sell the game, trying to pander to a different audience will not help them and, as has been shown, will instead hurt them. But I think the unfortunate reality is that this is a franchise that too many people at 343 don’t want to work on. If it was, they wouldn’t be trying to make it something else.

But you can sell the “same” product over and over again if you make slight improvements to it. There is a reason why CS, COD, BF, etc have been popular for so long. CS:GO is almost exactly like CS 1.6. There were some improvements, but the fundamentals of the game haven’t changed. Again why was COD so popular for 6+ years? Because the game hardly changed. You don’t want to release the exact same product over and over again, but you make a game with improvements and add somethings that positively add to the established experience.

I didn´t say Halo has to be like other games, i just try to compare to the likeness of the genre, make Halo 4 like Halo 3 will be boring, and like COD 343 improve different methods to do that difference that you are talking.

In reference i love to play Gears Of War, and i hated GOW Judgment just because it doesn’t feels like Gears anymore, now i know you can broke a great game like Gears Of War by doing that and that’s something that i don’t want for Halo. Trust me it is not funny bro.
