Why not just up the movement speed and remove a button to sprint? This way everyone is always sprinting and people move the exact same speed.

It is just funny how there are 300+ pages on this thread and you guys dont realize sprint is not going anywhere. The best solution is to make classic playlists for multiplayer. Sadly, 343 are lazy and probably wont do them. (I miss h2 gameplay sometimes)

One look at the history of the franchise and it becomes more and more obvious that sprint will take its leave in the not too distant future. How many gameplay mechanics have stood the test of time? Weapons, grenades and melee seem to be the main, if not only, constants. Perhaps there are others, but not very many at all. Sprint’s been around longer than most other tried mechanics and it’s been continually altered so that it’s becoming less impactful on the game, so how long until it’s removed completely? Throw in how games are once again moving away from it in favor of faster paced gameplay and that’s even more reason why it won’t be around for long.

The mechanics are what kept me playing despite the awful campaign, lack of game modes, splitscreen, and greedy microtransactions.
So no one is allowed to post their feedback in an attempt to make the game / franchisr more enjoyable for them because?
Thanks to H5G’s mechanics (sprint & thrust) I don’t constantly encounter the old H2 & H3 BR square dance where players are constantly side stepping back in forth during prolonged engagements like twitchy wackos.

Fear I disagree because they listen to the community and they will learn what they had mistaken in the game but 343i is still good and halo is too, give some faith into it and maybe things will start coming around.~Rev

If Halo 6 has no sprint i’m not playing it. I’m not playing the same game from -Yoinking!- middle school days. That time has come and passed. damn nostalgia tripping losers. yall will never be happy. Thats the sad part. I still have the exact SAME engagements in Halo 5 as in Halo 3. Same strafing mechanics, added the thruster is a new form of evading. Same running away when you’re one shot that has always been in Halo. Same grenade power. Same melee power (the lunge with melee is stretched given the faster movement). Truth, from previous halos, has come back and is probably my favorite given it’s expanded to fit the movement. I don’t get people in this community. What they can do is extend the radar to be able to track sprinters from an outside the 18m proximity. Maybe like, an extra 10m so you see people looking for a cheap spartan charge kill. Spartan charge can be nerfed. Maybe in its tracking. You charge too far a distance. It has the same lunge as a sword which shouldn’t be. It should be more like a shoulder ram. maybe move your spartan 3-4 ft without tracking. For Halo 6 they could maybe go back to projectile bullets instead of hitscan that way it’s harder to aim.

No, I’m implying that at its core it still has the fundamentals that make it Halo. Halo 5 is a different type of animal of the same species. They’re both dogs, but ones a lab the other is a golden retriever. lol

I agree, with the new clamber ability now in Halo, to take sprint out would remove lots of possibilities.
Halo can now be more diverse in its mission design, and have many areas that players can clamber up to and complete a mission in a different way, as apposed to just going through the mission ‘normally’ like H1, H2, H3, ODST, and REACH.
It would be great it we could go back to the previous Halo games with the spartan abilities in H5. Sprint opens up missions levels and really makes you think you are a spartan.

Oh lord, are you referring to franchise classic strafing, that took skill to master and could turn a fight? You like how all you have now is one thrust and sprint as an option to escape and strafing has no effect?
Im starting to notice a pattern. You who are enjoying the Halo 5 ‘immersion’ experience have never truly loved the classic play style. You might have played them, even liked them, but this whole time wanted something completely different from Halo. Now that the game is short TTK, first-see-first-kill, thrust away, ground pound, clamber anything without skill, sprint like super soldiers do -game, you’re getting the experience you’ve always wanted. The sad part is you’re willing to hold onto this new version with your life even if it’s going to make the franchise obsolete. Why? Because you never truly cared about the franchise in the first place. If it’s ruined, it’s ruined. On to the next game.
inb4 you just want a Halo 3.5, you want to play the same game over and over again, old halos can’t make it on today’s market, I like sprint and abilities, go play something else, super soldiers must know how to sprint, go play MCC, it’s 2016, games back then didn’t know what sprint was, games evolve, CoD market share and 343 want some of that, people expect to be able to sprint, I don’t care how it changes gameplay

Sorry, but I started at CE and had to tolerate the direction that H2 &H3 took.
If H2&H3’s mechanics are so superior to all others then why didn’t everybody else copy them?
I mean it’s the highest measure of skill to side step back and forth like you are line dancing to the Achy Breaky Heart and the Macarena at a wedding reception.

You’ve started with Halo CE like I have but you’ve mainly played big team battles and Warzone where these mechanics don’t break the game so much. Wanna know why? Because it’s chaotic, shoot anyone you see, move anywhere you want -type of a gameplay. For most of us that want a Halo game, that is not we have in mind. We envision an arena shooter, with seamless moving and shooting ability, added lifts and teleporters for map flow and a ton of fun. What you envisioned was a massive big team battle with sprint and climbing ability, vehicles for everyone and a fast TTK so that one guy you see a mile away doesn’t have enough time to get to cover.
I loved strafing. It added a defensive component to gunfights without the extreme escape opportunity thrusters give. But you’re saying exactly what I said in my previous post: that you might have liked the older games but never truly loved them. Now you’re getting the Halo you envisioned but don’t care that millions of other haven’t.
Nobody copied Halo because franchises where doing their own thing. COD and Battlefield, Halo, F.E.A.R, gears of war. What worked for Halo would not have worked for other franchises, just like now we see how things that work in CoD aren’t working in Halo. Once again: when they remove shields, make TTK to 0.4-0.6 for all weapons and make you be able to shoot faster after sprinting, that’s the day all of these abilities work great in Halo. I beg them to also remove ‘Halo’ from the title by then.

you never played the older halo’s then.
This problem was non-existent back then

So how exactly does sprint affect the encounters in such a way that we do not have square dances?
I can see thrusters to some degree, but even in an engagement they’re often used to sidestep.

Because if we remove sprint and sprint only from Halo 5, it becomes one of the Halos from the original trilogy, right?
Why is it that if sprint is removed, nothing else would be added or changed?

To reach other areas and traverse the missions differently.

You’re not explaining how these things are impossible without sprint.

You can’t make a large jump without sprint and clamber (in theory)
