If the BMS was bumped up to the current sprint speed, you would actually traverse Warzone maps a bit quicker. Theoretically, very little would have to be done to Warzone maps to make them work just as well.

They would be fine with a high BMS and a few man cannons/teleporters. We had maps that big in ce.

the removal of sprint would be a mistake because it would make Halo less relevant. I am not a fan of it either, but i dont wanna see Halo suffer anymore.

Halo doesn’t need to be relevant. Also, what makes sprint a relevant?

Making your game less generic and faster playing will make it less relevant?

That makes no sense.

Tis funny, fired up MCC the other day and thoroughly enjoyed playing H2 and H3 multi again, however, I fire up H5 after it and I find myself questioning if I could ever go back again.

For me - sprint on its own is not a massive game changer - It’s sprint, mantle, thrust, charge and pound which all come together to create a mobility meta completely different from what we had before in H2, H3 and Reach. The inclusion of the mobility meta has definitely raised the skill ceiling and I would be sad to see it go. I also firmly believe its here to stay. H5 has laid some excellent foundations, I can’t see 343i ditching them and reworking things again for H6 etc.

he means that every other big FPS game has sprint (Which is generally seen as good), and Halo doesn’t therefore less people would like it.

Who even put this question up

I think 343 has done well with sprint in halo 5, because it isn’t overpowering. While it is infinite, you can’t regenerate your shields while sprinting therefore it makes it a ‘you can run but you cant hide’ situation. In Halo 4 a lot of people would sprint away for as long as they could before it ran out while regenerating their shields which was very frustrating, but in Halo 5 they can’t do that.

Every other big FPS game? have you ever heard of a game called Counter Strike? Or Overwatch (have not played it myself but I’ve heard it’s a huge success…)? Or any Arena FPS?
If by “every other big FPS game” you are talking about BF and CoD, well yes “every” other big FPS has sprint…

Please show the proof that “less people would like it”. I would really like to know that.

Funny how people still debate over this lol

yeah I agree, it’s baffling to see people still defending sprint right?

Yes

There’s just about nothing to support that. Halo has only become less popular since sprint was added, with it at an all time low of the last ten years.

Overwatch is more popular than Halo 5 (as a whole and just on the Xbox one) and only one character in that game has the capability to sprint - a character that’s used less than 7% of the time, so clearly most people don’t have a problem not being able to sprint.

Two of the top 3 most played FPS games this year have no sprint.

Even if that weren’t the case playing follow the leader will not gain you a significant share of the marketplace.

What if it’s worse because people go around with shotguns or railgun killing everyone because they can move faster in all directions? How is that better? Just because everyone else can move in all directions doesn’t mean it’s balanced, because it would be harder to kill people with power weapons because they can back peddle and strafe at a faster pace as well as chance you down without you being able to counter them without another power weapon.

Not a Halo game with no sprint, a Halo game with an increased BMS just to correct you. They work well with a slower movement speed because you can’t get away if you’re out in the open or even a little far from cover. But maps like Guardian in Halo 3 would be harder to kill the guy with the shotgun/sniper because they can move faster than the weapon is designed for.

However I’m talking more arena maps, BTB maps like Blood Gulch would be pretty good with an increased BMS because they are so open and they don’t have anything that can make it OP. I would like to see how the settings for increased BMS play on old school maps vs Halo 5 maps. Want to see the how they differ and contrast from each other.

Didn’t MLG increase base movement speeds for their playlist?

Wouldn’t Power Weapons in any possible future sprint-less Halo game be designed for that game?

Yes but each Halo game has created power weapons to be power weapons. To fit this new speed the weapons would have to either be weaker or the Spartans more durable.

I don’t know if they did, but I’m pretty sure casual players or just regular players could keep up with them on that level. I’m talking about the average player, not pros.
