Yes there is. Have you ever played a halo game without sprint before?

I just fear that 343 will fall for some of the clickbait threads and change things that don’t need to be changed.

Halo reach brought the aspect of extremely unbalanced armor abilities
nobody questioned bungie
halo 4 balanced armor abilities and added sprint for non armor abilites
there was 2 armor abilities I would use, jet pack and regen field
both balanced from he -Yoink- show that was reach armor abilities
everybody complained about them, so 343 got rid of it
a mechanic that was beloved in halo reach
now in halo 5 they added balanced Spartan abilities that Everyone had and was easily avoided to use and attack
sprint was balanced it was the best sprint in anygame to me
Now people want it gone
A MECHANIC THAT BUNGIE ORIGINALLY ADDED THAT 343i IMPROVED ON IF YOU WANT TO BLAME ANYBODY BLAME BUNGIE
I can tell you that if bungie kept working on halo Sprint would be in halo so would armor abilities and I guarantee you that no one would question them
343 hasn’t truly pushed any mechanic barriers
while bungie did, but we are complaining because 343 kept things the same
loadouts were in halo reach
They were improved on in halo 4
quit -Yoinking!- complaining because most of the community actually liked those mechanics in halo reacj

I can agree if ONLY the leave strafe and crouch in and that they turn back to a projectile system.

I do agree with your statement but 343 also work with Bungie on Reach so they partly get the blame.

Well the thing is my guy, that bungee never sought to make it a universal ability that everyone would use, and I honestly think that if they made halo 4, the pick up ability system would have returned because it was genuinely good.

Running away with his weapon down when another enemy can just as easily be right around the corner would leave him defenseless. Sprinting within the confines of enclosed areas (the Arena maps) where armed enemies are prowling is careless and irresponsible.

And when we have little environment, you get out of the action to re-adjust. That will mean sprinting.

Why do people get worked up over a minor change? BREAKING NEWS: SPRINT IS NOT A PROBLEM. What is the point in complaining about an option, if you don’t like sprint just don’t bother using it. Simple. There is no logical reason to not have sprint or enhanced movement options in a game.

There is not a good enough argument being placed by the ‘Remove Sprint’ campaigners.

By the way, fast paced action is pretty much 343’s thing now. Don’t rob them of that.

Buddy, do you truly think EVERYBODY LOVED armor abilities in reach? Hell no, of course not it is just that people thought bungee would be around to get rid of it so they were vocal about it and some people probably returned reach to the store as soon as they bought it.

I hated one armor ability everyone hates #Armorlock

Were you actually even active on bungie.net in 2010? Nevermind, don’t know why I asked a question i already know the answer to. Because with statements like those obviously Halo 4 must have been your first Halo you went to the forums for.

Everyone questioned Bungie. Maybe 3/10 of the population actually liked Reach’s mechanics. That’s why so many people stayed back on Halo 3 until MCC… But you wouldn’t know that though?

If you actually think the hate that Bungie got for Reach isn’t comparable to 343’s hate for H2A, MCC, H5 etc then you should go take a look at the Forums

THANK YOUI! A spark of insight! One of many I’m sure I’m just going off of ILockout’s example.

I’d rather keep sprint. Its improves the game, and it makes sense for super soldiers in advanced armor to be able to sprint instead of trudge around. But, seriously why I am seeing a thread like this so much? Its not an issue

You sir are a comedian. It has more cons than pros. And no, it didn’t make sense. Why change something that does not need to be changed?

It makes no sense to put the actual gameplay ahead of what’s doable and what happens in the lore?

Okay then, I remember MC testing his armor and bullets pinging off.
Alright, we need a new hitbox system implemented where standard ballistic bullets bounce off the armor in certain areas, while I think they’d do minimal damage in the softer areas as that’s where the undersuit is. However, the undersuit itself has anti-ballistic implementations. I’d say that the Visor is a big weak spot, so naturally we’d have to have armors with different hit boxes, there are helmets without visors so they would have no such weak spots.

Then there’s Reach, both Jun and Noble 6 go prone, so that as well should be implemented.

Unless they’ve retconned it, in an older book Chief and Co made a Mjolnir armor detonate on a dead spartan in order to make the Tech unavailable to the Covenant.

Ah, Halo 2 and sprint.
Thing is, while there may have been some animation errors present, it has also been said it was cut due to it introducing a different pacing than what Bungie wanted to have in Halo 2.
Furthermore, look at Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, if Bungie at that time truly wanted to have Sprint, they’d most likely have worked the kinks out for at least one of those. Especially ODST where it would fit in a “realism” sense.

Because it is used tactically. Sprinting is not a problem in any way. Why do people dislike it? You wouldn’t have a simple jog through a F*CKING WARZONE FULL OF SLAUGHTER. You’d quickly make your way over to an area. And I mean QUICKLY.

It is absolutely illogical to remove sprint, your arguments are quite invalid I’d say. But if you truly dislike sprint, you can always return to your grand and glorious Halo 3.

A Spartan wouldn’t be wandering around in the open. A Spartan is smarter than that because he knows the environment can be used to his advantage in a fight. I just want to be immersed by feeling like a Spartan. Sprint doesn’t make sense given the circumstances in Arena maps.

And on the topic of immersion, why is the entire game not in slow motion? Spartans brains process information at a much faster rate than regular humans so everything appears to be happening slower to them. A slow motion game would definitely make me feel badass as I pop off headshots and it would require more strategy because it allows you to react quicker which requires you think up more ways to tackle a situation.

yes i have it is no action in them either…

not so much

The argument people make is simple I see myself as someone who is not on either side. The arguement really is, that older Halo games did not have sprint, while other games did. This made halo unique. In Reach sprint was not accessible to everyone, it was an ability among a choice of abilities. Now with sprint accessible to everyone, it just feels like any other FPS game to some, you could even go as far as to say it’s call of duty with drawn out gunfights.
