I like your idea, but I think that should just be an armor ability. For instance, let’s change Dexterity. When equipped, you may fire your weapons, throw grenades (Which increases the throwing distances) and melee while sprinting.

Walks in to some random other persons party 3 weeks later, sup guys. Wait your not bob… Back to the original conversation down with sprint, burn it

Even though I use spriint a lot, I do agree that it does affect some aspects of gameplay, so yeah, BURN IT WITH FIRE!!! And then cover it with teriyaki flavoring and feed it to a regular sized giraffe.

But what is the formula for volume of sprint, elongation<BMS+ ( gold triangle=1/2 irrelevant)sprint speed~mancannons.
wow. I crammed a decent amount of meaning in there

Go play on sancutary, beaver creek, or lockout and tell me that played in slow-mo. There was constant action on those maps even without sprint.

Not really. Doom’s maps aren’t all that big. You just move a lot faster so you actually have to aim at your target more because they have multiple movement options and can still shoot you

I am pretty sure we learned from Halo 4 that perks and AAs in competitive play was a very very bad idea.

I’ve also competed all the way up to H3, so I get the competitive angle. Halo needed a big movement and pacing change and H5 is has exceeded my wildest dreams of what they would actually be able to achieve in terms of keeping true to Halo, making needed changes, and actually delivering a MP experience that was fun. So please just move on.

You do realize that sprint is a mechanic from the 90s?

> its opinion because the affect of sprint, assuming it can be objectively measured, is opinion based. its preference. We differ in the interpretation of data and causality of it all.
>
> the difference between objective and subjective is not definition (it kinda is, but that serves to make the point)- one is measureable, one is preference. Not having the same definition means the conversation isnt going to be very fruitful. The sky is blue. if your definition of blue is different, the sky doesnt change color. Instead we’re going to have a long argument about color, light waves, etc. Same is true if you think opinion is simply a belief one holds, or yada yada. Definitions do matter, but only so far as ensuring everyone understands one another. They dont change the truth of the facts.

This is getting more philosophical than I intended, but I don’t think “truth” is as simple as you think it is. Ultimately, whether we can agree on a statement being true or false relies on us agreeing on the definition of the words used in the statement. It’s only because we have this fantastic language that we agree on that makes simple statements like “the sky is blue” so intuitively “true” to us without any disagreement. Obviously there is a world out there where things are the same to everyone, but we can’t speak of it without definitions.

The distinction between objective and subjective isn’t a simple matter. It becomes clear in situations like this when we have one group of people thinking it’s all objective, and another thinking it’s all subjective. If it was simple, we wouldn’t be having this metadebate.

rule one of making halo don’t break the golden triangle

I despise the idea of Armor Mods in competitive Halo.

That said, the changes I proposed to Sprint were intended to be across the board and make it where it isn’t Sprint anymore. Its a higher base movement speed.

any halo game that broke the triangle reach 4 and 5 have been terrible compared to their predecessors lets tell 343 Don’t break the halo triangle

Yes, good idea

Yes and you’re pointless bump is only keeping it alive longer so thanks I guess since this is actually kinda important to me.

We’re having a meta debate because humans can think. Truth absolutely is simple, but not simply obtained.

the Sky is blue. You can talk around it, use language to obfuscate the simplicity of word and perception. But It is not a matter of preference. How we convey the truth of its color is where the variation occurs. Maybe you use a different word, or want to get more specific or artsy with the categorization of color.

however, the same is not true of sprint in halo. it is almost entirely a matter of opinion. Both in the objectivity of its effects (how greatly are maps stretched out due to sprint? would they not be larger to accomodate more players as console and networking power has increased? We’re not really able to say, so we make certain assumptions based on our sensibilities), and the quality of these effects- does sprint make for a better game? So there is definitely a truth regarding Sprint and halo 5, but finding it is hard, and interpreting it a matter of opinion.

The sky is still blue, though.
