In gameplay terms, it can teleport you any place on the map in an instant, but it has a potential chance to overload and kill you, since it’s a prototype technology. The further you want to travel, the higher the probability it backfires/the larger the explosion and damage to the Spartan. Pro-sprinters get places faster and can have their risk-reward-system, Anti-sprinters get their run-and-gun back with TTK and weapons damage no longer being tailored for two movement speeds and everybody’s happy.

Less impractical than lowering your gun in the middle of a battle!

It gets people faster from A to B, just like sprint. It has a risk-reward-system attached to it, just like sprint. On the other hand, it doesn’t disrupt combat by forcing players to run around like headless chicken for half a minute. And it doesn’t create a secondary movement speed that needs to be considered when balancing weapon output/TTK. It basically has all the advantages of sprint without the drawbacks.

So what about this suggestion is impractical? Please, do enlighten me.

CE might be a bit of an outlier because of the pistol, and doubles more so.

And there might be harm in increasing pace. you dont need to notice something to be affected by it.

i also need to point out that game length is not how you defined pace. Though I would be interested in seeing mean times of comparable slayer matches across the games. MCC seems like a good option for setting up some matches for time.

It shouldn’t be removed. It’s an evolution that has already been made.
Perhaps decrease speed. Increase time it takes to reach full speed. Or make it an armor ability. Anything to your liking so your problem can be solved.

do not remove sprint please

I like the sprint, but wish they’d return the spartan charge to its original full damage.

Let’s avoid terms that describe changes as improvements and instead outline what the changes do, shall we? So what are the effects that adding Sprint to Halo has brought?

Anything to my liking so that my issues with Sprint would be resolved? Alright, let’s tweak it so that players can still fire weapons/throw grenades/melee while doing so and make it where players can sprint in any direction, rather than just forward. That’ll pretty much do it for me.

A games length is a result of the definition I put worth. The more you’re engaged with an enemy, the fast kills tend to happen, which ends the game quicker.

True though that the CE Pistol may make things a little faster than other games in the series. Though, it remains that CE was undoubtedly the fastest paced Halo, all things taken into account. Obviously when you take into consideration the powerful weapons, the shorter time between engagements and typically smaller maps that lend to a tighter, more focused experience (as opposed to bigger maps that are built for a speed you’re only moving at some of the time).

Current Halo’s are slower paced for a number of reasons, not just sprint, but many of those reasons are a result of sprints inclusion.

“Evolution” is not an answer. Why is it good for the gameplay?

I think that 343i should remove sprint from breakout! So 343i are promoting breakout again and they are catering to both sides of the argument!!!

PLEASE like if you think this is a great idea! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

You asked me a question, I answered. You didn’t reply. Waiting.

I disagree!! I think Spartan charge needs to be removed!! WOAH, hear me out, it’s become a thing that will be annoying to people that actually use guns and play the game properly, when a load of noobs will go running around and keep spawn killing! It’s just a really noob like thing to do! Yes you may look at my SR and I have a lot of Spartan charge kills but that was when EVERYONE, yes even YOU, when the game first came out we were ALL noobs and trying all the new abilities out! If you don’t agree then there should be at least a timer, like thrusters, so level it out more!

I’m ok with sprint and don’t mind it one bit. is that normal?

I know this thread is a highly opinionated topic but IMO Sprint didn’t change all to much or “Kill Halo.” I think it’s perfectly fine and wouldn’t care if they kept or removed it.

As they say you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.

They should just add “classic” playlists in both halo 5 and any future halo games where matches have no sprint, abilities etc.

That would be a dream if they did that with halo 5 are any halo title in the near future.

I think this is absurd

I enjoy the sprint myself. I know others may disagree. Maybe they can create a playlist that disables the sprint function for who don’t want it. Just a thought.
