Wow you are both so wrong about this. They don’t notice it not because they’re numb to it and they don’t want the removal of sprint because they hate change (older halo players hate change).

They don’t notice these things because they aren’t as big of a deal as you claim them to be. Maps aren’t bad in Halo because of sprint, but because of poor map design and execution.

The reason they don’t want the removal of sprint is because it’s implemented pretty well compared to other games and it speeds up a lot of the campaign missions quite significantly. Yes there’s vehicles on SOME of them had vehicles but there’s missions like The Ark from 3 where you have to go through a lot of huge buildings and corridors aside from the parts you travel in vehicles. And what happens when you’re playing coop and you die and have to go back and get your weapons. Without vehicles it takes quite a long time compared to doing it with sprint.

Instead of just taking the bare minimum of any argument someone makes, can you at least try to understand their side of the argument instead of just passing it off as “ignorant” “wrong” or “false”

You still haven’t given any legitimate evidence for us to see, in fact you specifically stated that it was your opinion and you dident need proof

Here’s some food for thought. If sprint does not affect the way maps feel, how come 343 have yet to remake any of the maps they have made since the Reach title update? You’d think they thought one of their maps would make it this far since they took over.
Halo 2 had 3 maps remade from CE. Halo 3 had 4 maps remade and one similar to a previous map( Valhalla). What gives? It just shows that Bungie made some classic maps for every game.
You cannot count any maps as a remake of they were done in Forge

Nailed it on the head; at the end of the day bad map design is BAD MAP DESIGN. Plus your campaign point is also a great point…Ark is a freaking marathon as it is with a vehicle. Dose sprint really have an impact over the fact that a maps execution is poor? It just makes it easier to get around, and how they did it in Halo 5 with the lack of recharge really balances it out due to the fact that you simply cannot out run your opponent to survive, it just simply makes it easier to get to point A to point B. A bad map is simply that, a bad map.

…is Truth not a remake? Id love to see a couple more remakes in Halo 5, but the MCC is out their; why remake maps AGAIN.

Truth came from halo 2 and is proof enough that stretching the map necessitates sprint, therefore ruining the maps flow. The point I’m making is that 343 are not confident with their own map design.

It’s not gonna change. 343 has invested way too many resources for the movement system

They had to make the map huge to accomadate sprint, believe it or not apex 7 (yes the warzone map) is a remake from ce. It’s acually a little smaller than the original version(death island)

Its still a remake; and to be honest I don’t notice that its been stretched, its still the same design and still feels like the same map that I played back in Halo 2. And I’ll argue that point considering their are less remakes in Halo 5 compared to previous entries. Id like to see a few CE Maps comeback, but if I were a developer Id rather try and create new maps, then simply re skinning old maps. Halo has forge so someone, somewhere is recreating old maps.

Id be sick and tired of re creating the same thing every 3-4 years. I want new maps, not the same recycled list in every title

I personally don’t care about Sprint. I like it and I AM a halo vet. But, I see where you’re coming from. As long as we have a great halo game, I really don’t care about Sprint. #makehalogreatagain

Its not going to hurt my experience, as an old Halo player I’ve actually enjoyed watching this game grow over the years. Every Halo game feels like Halo, but with something fresh that makes it feel a little different then the one before it. Halo still has its Soul vs other titles out there.

> 2533274973685362;4:
> didn’t even bother reading it because it is the dumbest topic out there right now. Just because it has sprint doesn’t mean its not Halo. It’s one whole mechanic, that’s it. If you don’t like sprint, don’t sprint. Problem solved.

Ikr if he doesn’t want sprint then he shouldn’t sprint. sprinting is optional walk 4 crying out loud

Maybe I didn’t communicate very well so I’ll reiterate. How come 343 hasn’t remade any of THEIR maps yet. The maps that had sprint in mind. You mean to tell me none of their maps are good enough for a revision? I wonder why?

It has its soul, and it has its fire, and I too, enjoy watching it evolve. The new mechanics in each game are fun to learn and play with. It’s just the story that they messed up so bad in halo 5. But I do like Sprint and the Spartan abilities. It adds more open worldedness to an FPS rarely seen. Halo is great either way.

> Maybe I didn’t communicate very well so I’ll reiterate. How come 343 hasn’t remade any of THEIR maps yet. The maps that had sprint in mind. You mean to tell me none of their maps are good enough for a revision? I wonder why?

  1. Cuz why do we need remakes? They’re just as bad as remixes
  2. Cuz this time those remakes would need to take clambor and other abilities into account for map design, and forge remakes have shown remakes won’t mesh with h5s current mechanics, it has nothing to do with 343s confidence in map design cuz even bungie only has one or two good maps in their games, should I say they lacked confidence as well?
  3. Reach isn’t 343s game as well, h4 is the only one and as said with point #2 they just won’t work with h5s current mechanics.
  4. You make the maps work with the mechanics, not the mechanics work for the map, hence why point #2 stands. If they were to make remakes they would not play the same, so there’s another reason as to why it’s pointless.

And plus some of the those backgrounds are hard to recreate. I remember some maps from Halo ODST where the background is different from what we have in H5

Ill take the wounder out of your question: Halo 5 is the second game that they have truly developed out of an entire franchise that they inherited; and there’s tjhe MCC on the same console. The focus is on new maps. 1-2 remakes are enough.

Everything you just said ignores the fact that Truth is a map in Halo 5. They can make Halo 4 maps work just as easy as they can Halo 2. It’ll be even easier, Halo 4 maps were built around sprint just like Halo 5

I would try to recreate some maps from H3 but I’m too lazy and not that skillful.
