> Wrong. Either you haven’t read all the reasons why sprint is bad for Halo throughout the 240+ pages, or you you have reading comprehension problems.

No you have reading compreshension problems. What I am saying is that there are people who don’t care about the reasons that have been stated in the 240+ pages, they like how sprint has affected gameplay. You can give proof, and hard numerical reasons and that will not change people’s opinion. It certainly does not affect my opinion. Sprint only had negative impacts for the people who don’t like it and not for those who do like it. It’s simple as that.

Their needs to be a Poll, settle it by simply asking the damn question.

Surely you look at my post with very little thought. I read all the posts on this thread since it started. I’m referring my joy of sprint in Halo 5 as it being the best form of it we have gotten so far which is why I want to see it in the next game. I never said at any point in my post I wanted it removed.
I mentioned lore aspects for a reason, but since you thought it was necessary to offend me and belittle me for it, allow me to elaborate slightly…

Sprint made aspects of the Spartans described in the novels more canon to a point. The Spartans were known for running at high speeds with practically unlimited stamina. They had abilities like no other with the MJOLNIR armor on, such as the Spartan abilities. I feel like more of a Spartan than I did in any other Halo game. That really is just a result of how all FPS games have evolved these days.

I understand the reasons people want sprint removed, and I get many want a more “classic and original Halo,” but for the FPS sake of gameplay, it is gonna most likely stay in the future games. Too many people favor it over Halo veterans of the Halo: CE-Halo 3 arc. Many people dislike how e-sports is in Halo now…many dislike the competitive fast paced game Halo has become. It’s not my choice. I like and hate every Halo in their own respects. No Halo is perfect. But I think the Matchmaking is plenty fun now than it was before, despite the many good times I’ve had in Halo 1-3 and Reach.

Agree with the above 100%!

Just lose the sprint animation for MP and that a lone would make a lot more people happy because your gun is always up at least. I’m fine with a single base speed and that’s it but it seems like too many people (kids mainly) need to have a sprint animation (Thank you COD for bringing that crap into FPS shooters everywhere…) Halo 1-3 IMO still plays the best. I’ve always wonder if you just added say clamber and not sprint, how would Halo play. I think it would be better, but we’ll never know. I’m betting the sprint animation is here to stay until either A) Other FPS stop using it and become HUGE (It might be slowly happening already with Overwatch and the new Doom) and/or B) Halo sales really start falling off…

If you’re curious to know how clamber feels without sprint, Halo 5 Infection will give you a good idea of that.

Here is why I like sprint: because in MY OPINION it makes the game faster, in MY OPINION it makes sense to be able to run, and in MY OPINION I like how the game plays. So there you go, I don’t give a **** what reasons you or any anti-sprinter have to say, I enjoy sprinting and so do many others. It is ALL opinion wether you believe you are using logical reasons or not.

But it doesn’t actually make the game faster (paced). It only gives the ILLUSION of being faster. It’s actually quite the opposite. Average game time of a CE or H2 match are A LOT shorter than that of a Reach, H4, or H5 match. That is not opinion, regardless of what you say.

Logic and opinions are two diffrent things, it can be my opinion that the sky is purple, logically I’m wrong. It can be your opinion that sprint makes the game faster, logically your wrong.

Buddy, you clearly still don’t get what im saying. You can give any reason you want under the sun about why you believe sprint is not good, but I and many others do not care! We don’t care about the reasons you give us. You can call it an illusion, you can say it’s a detriment to halo but to us, we like it and nothing you say will change that. I understand your reasons, they are good, well founded reasons I admit, but it doesn’t affect me. I like sprint, you don’t and that’s how it is, you’re not wrong to dislike it but neither am I for liking it. I’m not saying your reasons are wrong, im saying that your reasons will not affect people who truly enjoy sprint.

That would be pretty difficult to do, the poll would be for 343 to see what the fanbase wants / what would grow the fanbase, the poll would be need to be coordinated on a lot of sites along with in game, most people who would vote no sprint don’t play halo anymore, a lot of them would come back if they heard halo was going back to its routes, but they wouldn’t be there for the poll, the masses and or new players will vote for sprint just because they know other games like cod and no offense to them but they probably literally can’t comprehend how a fps works without sprint (thank cod for that one). Even if they would absolutely love the game with no sprint, they haven’t tried it, so they don’t know and vote against change. Halo 6 will end the second trilogy and hopefully if halo 6 is at least as good as 5 and keeps halo alive until then the new trilogy can go no sprint.

And that’s the problem with this community people who shut down in their confirmation bias towards sprint and refuse to at least acknowledge overwhelming evidence. If you can’t prove your opinions then they don’t matter, there just words to be ignored that hold no real meaning

… What?

I never implied that you wanted Sprint removed. I don’t see where you could’ve misunderstood what I wrote to think I did.

Don’t see how I “belittled” you by posing a counter-argument but okay. “More canon”? Where in the canon has it ever mentioned/explained that Spartans’ shields aren’t able to charge while they’re sprinting? Not only that, but think about the approximate 20% speed increase while sprinting in H5 and how that relates to the 62 kph/38 mph described about Kelly (and that she was only able to do so in bursts).

So much for reaching “Spartan” speeds and/or having practically unlimited stamina. Also, show me one novel where it mentions Spartan Charge, Ground Pound, or a Thruster Pack integrated into the MJOLNIR.

How does your point about Halo’s lore relate to “how all FPS games have evolved these days”?

Too many people favor Sprint over Halo’s traditional gameplay style? First off, source please? Secondly, if that’s the case why would those people play Halo as opposed to another game franchise?

After I have seen the overwhelming evidence, I still dont change my mind. So good job. Pro-sprinters, does the overwhelming evidence provided by the anti-sprint community affect how you feel when you play halo?

Honestly out of all the people I have talked to or used to play halo with for years they all love the gameplay of halo 5. The biggest things that made them leave are the lack of playlists and lack of fun maps. Then you tack on things like no splitscreen and a god awful single player and it’s a no brainier why people don’t want to play halo 5 over other games.

No it probably dosen’t, children have a tendancy to act like that

The fact is sprint makes halo not halo and despite all the things 343 has done people still run away all the -Yoink- time.
ps:halo 5 was my very 1st halo(It’s my favorite also)and I still agree that sprint has no place in this game(clamber too),boost, ground pound, stabilize, should stay it adds depth to the meta.

I would really like to se a game with boost but not sprint and clamber. that would make some really cool skill jumps with boost and up gunplay with boost being used as more of a boost strafe ability.

If they don’t notice the effects, it means knowing the effect will almost definitely not change their opinion either.

Though it would also mean they wouldn’t notice a change should Halo switch to no sprint. They would just know sprint isn’t there, not what the gameplay difference is. As such, those people should not be catered to because devs shouldn’t cater to the ones that don’t notice, they should cater to the ones that do.

Yea, I made a post earlier saying that most of the pro sprint people, even casuals not on waypoint, they don’t know what it’s like without sprint (thank cod for that) so they defualt to pro sprint, because change is scary. I bet that if we had a no sprint game most of these people would love it, they are just scared of change to something that seems weird (because cod has generalized the entire fps industry to their dull formula)

Boost add so -Yoink- much to strafe and if u reduce magnetism and aim assist it would make gunfights amazing.
