Then I recommend you go watch some Quake gameplay, the new Doom gameplay, or UT 2015 gameplay.
Halo 3 had the exact same movement speed as CE and 2. It however had lower FoV and as I’ve understood horrible accelerations.
So no, sprint is not required at all to make a game fast paced, not before 2000, not between 2000 and 2009, not this decade and not in the next one.
You study history so you can actually learn from it, “kid”…

Yeah, I also don’t see why it’s something that we have to have or else it’s not Halo. It’s funny that since Reach, all the other armor abilities that accompanied sprint got nerfed in H4 and then removed in H5 except for armor lock which was nerfed in Reach and then removed completely. Sprint has been nerfed to hell as well, but yet they decided for it to stick around.
I don’t think sprint ruins the game that much compared to other possible changes that would or have moved halo from its origins. I believe there are other issues that need to be looked at that could revive this game series to its highest potential. Maybe, to cater to those who don’t like sprint, 343 could in Halo 6 add options for multiplayer/campaign, such as sprint or no-sprint lobbies, just to diversify the matchmaking.

Halo 3 wasn’t that fast paced, most people are referring to 2/ce when they say we don’t need sprint, I highly sudgest you read more of this thread because as of now all of your posts look like blabbering nonsense

> Trust me, after about 5500 games playing Reach, i know the meaning of sprint. Reach was the 1st halo game to introduce sprint
After 5500 games of the second worst halo game, you still don’t understand how sprint has no positive effects
Sprint removed would mean the maps would have to be completely redesigned again. As you are aware, to make the map capable for sprint, they had to be stretched out to accommodate for the sprint functionality, hence one reason Halo 5 is such a big game file compared to other Xbox titles.
I think sprint is vital to Halo 5 and serves a very unique purpose. Without it, it doesn’t feel right. I love the classic Halo’s for what they were without it, but to make a new Halo without it would be regrettable in many ways I believe.
Sprint finally applies the many incomplete concepts of Lore that the books had in reference to how the Spartans and the MJOLNIR armor actually performed. This makes it feel more story accurate to the universe Halo has established.
Unfortunately, at the end of all of this, it is all a matter of opinion. No matter how much you people argue, there will be those who like sprint and those who don’t. Those who play the new games happily and those who complain about it and for some reason still play it. That is why this thread won’t die, it’s a battle of opinions. So all we can do is wait till halo 6 comes and see who won.

Preference is an opinion. However, the way that sprint (negatively) impacts the dynamics of the game, the core fundamentals of Halo, map design and flow, etc. is NOT opinion and can not be argued. People need to get this through their skulls (no pun intended).

People don’t have to because some people enjoy the impact sprint has had so they don’t care if you people don’t like the fact you don’t like sprint. It is only a “negative” impact because you don’t like how it works.

you see, this is where you wrong. for some people sprint has a positive impact on their gaming experience.
in the end, this IS opinion indeed. and THAT’S what people need to get in their brains like a bunch of sharp needles.

How much of this thread have you read? Most anti-Sprinters are asking for its removal in the next game, not for H5 to be updated/re-released without it.
I think Sprint is detrimental to Halo and serves a very superficial purpose. Its a generic mechanic introduced primarily to attract players from other FPS that have it. With Sprint, the game feels less like Halo (which was intended to allow movement and combat options to only help/never hinder one another, whereas many FPS are intended for there to be a trade-off between the two).
I love the classic Halo games for what they were, acknowledging that they aren’t infallible, and like Halo 5 for what it is but don’t find it to be a “true” Halo game. Honestly, I find that ODST (a “spin-off” game that I enjoyed very much) is the last Halo game in terms of game design… and I find that sad.
The dreaded “lore” argument… What part of Halo’s story has been meaningfully expanded on since Sprint’s introduction? Do you really think “Spartans have done this in the books” is a sound reason to include mechanics? What about going prone? Hanging upside-down? Golly, the Spartans we play as are horribly inadequate, aren’t they? “Anything they can do in cutscenes/novels should be possible in-game” is a horrible mentality for game design.

I don’t think people are expecting them to get rid of sprint in H5 since the game was designed around it, but it could still be possible for H6. For future Halos, they could do things to make you feel like you’re moving at a decent pace without actually making two different movement speeds.

Wrong. Either you haven’t read all the reasons why sprint is bad for Halo throughout the 240+ pages, or you you have reading comprehension problems.

Give a legitimate reason how sprint impacts anything positively and you can say that, this is an argument thread where we make arguments including reasoning, evidence and proof, not your opinion
