Every “modernized” Halo after it has done notably worse, but they shouldn’t look at what Halo 3 did right? lolwut?

Yea. They scrapped it because they wanted to make their own vision of Halo which, I guess nobody told them, is exactly how you DON’T make a sequel or any kind of successor.

Honestly this is one of my biggest gripes with 343.

> Sprint is fine. Clamber is as well. Just take out the thruster pack and all it’s cohorts. Smart Scope/Link needs to go. The pistol needs to be nerfed a bit in either rate of fire or damage, just to make it a secondary instead of a primary. While we’re at it, throw in some actual decent “from scratch” maps that aren’t just forge flip-flops of each other. Add some more permanent playlists too. Reduce the melee magnetism, as it’s a little too newb friendly. Req packs need to go, and progressive achievements need to replace it as the main source for unlocks and such. Other than that, there isn’t really that much else wrong(even though that’s pretty much all of multiplayer summed up.)

Do the exact opposite of those first 5 sentences and were good to go. But seriously, what’s with all the forge btb maps

We don’t have to, all the reasons you say sprint is bad are incorrect. It adds new elements to a game that needs it. It changes the way we fight, and move around maps.

Hopefully sprint is even faster in H6.

sigh Dear Diary,
TIL opinions can be incorrect without any kind of meaningful discussion and that pro-sprint people continually prove to me that ignorance is a huge problem on this forum for most people of any opinion. slams head into desk

Seriously this post is like an old witch trial. You’re wrong, but I don’t have to explain why or provide any proof so yea…you’re wrong. What new elements does it add other than a couple of mechanics that we’ve said already can be implemented without it and why does the game need it? Don’t try saying anyone’s wrong if you can’t even justify your own point let alone disprove the points of others.

You know they get pools of players to test their games right? And in those pools they usually get a bunch of CoD fanboys. One of the developers (I think, don’t remember) of Battlefield 4 even said how in his pool a lot of complaints were how the game was too hard and not like CoD at all.

343 scrapped the game because they mistakened the CoD fanboys as representatives of the Halo fanbase. Could they have also scrapped it because they wanted their own version? Most definitely. Is it likely? To an extent. Did the CoD fanboys affect the outcome? Most definitely. This was 343’s first Halo game, they had no idea of whether or not the

The CoD fanbase has done the same for several games and messed it up, heck even with the Doom series. The original game, Doom 4, was actually due to release in 2012, but the developers of id felt that it was too much like CoD and Battlefield, deciding to scrap the game, nearly sending them into bankruptcy. The reason for this is that they held many gaming pools regarding Doom 4 and most said it should play like CoD or Battlefield.

If this could happen to the scrapped Doom 4, it most likely happened with Halo 4, leading to the monstrosity known as Call of Duty: Halo 4. What developers have to do is what the developers of Battlefield 4 did, they ignored players on core elements and listened to them on nonimportant stuff. It’s not our responsibility to tell 343 to make Halo a certain way, they should make it so they can please they’re original fanbase, not fanbases of other franchises (though I am a supporter of Sprint).

is there a way to prove that all reason as to why sprint is bad for Halo are incorrect?
Can you prove that Halo needs sprint as a “new” element? (wouldn’t call it new since it’s been plaguing the franchise for quite some time now, tbh, it would be new and refreshing to not have sprint again…)

I mean you said it youself, it changed the way the game is played but is that a good thing? if that is the only needed reason to implement it H6 should have hero characters, wall running and grappeling hooks because “It changes the way we fight, and move around maps.”

Even were that the case they should have had the common sense to realize that Halo and CoD aren’t alike at all and that they should have brought in known older Halo players.

Actually, nix that last part because even Gandhi and other pro players bought into Halo 4 being super awesome and competitive because of Armor Abilities. If anything that should just be proof that playtesting groups should be for minor suggestions and gameplay tweaks and glitches.

I agree that 343 should be looking to the past games for inspiration, but clearly that isn’t what they’re doing one way or another.

I don’t follow. The tradional protoype that they scrapped was the one that was well received, so why scrap it and do something else? If CoD fans were in that pool it would only be more reason to keep it as is.

What you said doesn’t make any sense in response to what we were talking about. Unless either you misunderstood Benti or I misunderstood you.

Congratulations! For managing to string together four sentences, which contain absolutely no meaningful content.

You really do have to justify your statements, you really do. Nothing you say means anything unless you justify it. “All the reasons you say sprint is bad are incorrect” is a conjecture that is meaningless unless you can prove it. You might as well say “unicorns are real”, which carries an equivalent amount of believability. Nothing you say carries any meaning unless you explain it.

So your Argument is that we’re wrong. it changes the way we fight and move around maps, and your right it does, there’s the problem, stretched out maps and poor gameplay

You are also incorrect. Opinion is opinion, these is no such thing about correct or incorrect. The thing about people like you is never explain why you want to keep this and that.

Its hilarious how inconsiderate and simpleminded a large chunk of the pro-sprint community is… heres the thing: Sprint being out of halo was a thing long before you guys had your first sprint halo and while Im definitley not one to argue that its the sole reason or even a reason for halo’s decline; it is VERY impactful on the pacing, time to kill, map design, stratagy, and just general feel of the game and if you fail to recognize that I truely and honestly don’t know what to tell you but if you stopped and thought about it, you would find at least a COUPLE of those claims to be true by the simple act of thinking about it (if you are indeed a reasonable person) heres the thing. We’re not asking for a halo 3 clone or a halo 2 clone and alot of us STILL enjoy halo 5. BUT certain features like clamber spartan charge, sprint Change certain aspects of the gameplay (for better or worse I suppose is mostly a matter of opinion) I say different. I’m not trying to take much away from pro-sprint people. All I’m saying is that we could all be happy if halo 6 went back A LITTLE when it comes to things like sprint spartan charge and clamber still keeping thrusterpacks hover and ground pound and who knows maybe even slide cause its FUN AS HELL TO SLIDE. but all joking aside, sprint could still remain in the game in the warzone and customs aspect of it its just we would be putting it on the backburner.
NOTHING wrong with that honestly.
Hell if its popular enough we could even have TWO arena types Spartan 2 arena and spartan 4
I think thats pretty self explanatory
honestly I just want there to be more options for old fans of the series who would like to see a little return to form. I dont think thats too much to ask for niether for 343 or from the community whos actually glad they added sprint. I’ll admit I enjoy the sprinting gameplay every once and a while but I WANT to see halo pay proper tribute to the root gameplay that made the series so successful in the first place.

It’s like I was telling my friend the other day, its like you like this band and suddenly the band starts putting electronic elements in their music there are gonna be those that love the new style there are gonna be fans of the old style that refuse to aknowlege the band has new music and then there are gonna be those LIKE ME, that like both but would love to see them play some new songs in their old style I hope this similie allows some people to empethize with my situation and that includes the purists AND the keep sprint in halo community. I belive if that same band releases a half and half album they can keep the new fans, old fans, and in-between fans happy. I DONT know about you guys but that seems like a no-brainer for the band.

You support your argument with your opinions, your onions are useless, therefore your argument is useless.

Sprint makes this game better, 343 agrees (fact not opinion).

I hope we the walk speed in H6 is equal to the sprint speed in H5, and they introduce a new faster sprint where you can shoot at the same time.

if halo stayed the same their fans would consist of our kids any friends they drag in as well and it would only continue to grow being praised to be the few legengendary titles that didn’t become pathetic to grab the worst generation of gamers in gaming history we all know what I’m talking about

That’s a fact? Have they ever said that? Because that’s certainly not the reason they claimed to have included it.

You can’t be serious. Yes his onions are useless. Are you going to articulate why sprint is good? This is a discussion, you’re able to express your reasoning for sprint here right now. Also, when did 343 say sprint made the game better? What metric? Be careful 5 sentences may be a bit much to ask for but we’re sure you can do it.

Has 343 ever claimed their direction is better? Under any metric? Or is it vailed, ambiguous claims with no data behind it? Funny

I have played all of the halo games since C.E, my personal favorite halo was Halo 3, I enjoy sprint a lot, it speeds up the overall pace of the game and counters the faster TTK that the game sports, clever users can use the enhanced mobility to quickly strike a target then retreat, however it also allows for a hasty retreat and recovery from being shot at, shields also do not regenerate/recover during sprint, you can also not shoot whilst sprinting, overall I feel it widens the skill gap and allows for more advanced, adaptable and strategic gameplay
