Well first of all no, that’s not true.
What you’re saying is just an oversimplification of a misunderstanding which probably stem from a misconception regarding RaR “balances”.
Lets dive in.
Slapping an RaR label on anything and calling it a day completely overlooks any sort of gameplay influences that “anything” has on the game. Does Sprint have a very clear RaR look to it? Yes, yes it does. I’d also argue prone would have it, wall hugging and corner lean as well. Does this mean those should be implemented? Because they are clear RaR cases? Without looking at what they do to the gameplay?
We don’t need any obvious RaR on everything to justify it being implemented, I’d say we don’t even need it on everything. To me there’s very little risk and quite a “reward” zooming in when using any weapon, or thrusting for that matter, or even jumping.
As long as you can use those mechanics in order to have RaR scenarios.
Instead of shifting the RaR on the player doing something as arbitrary as moving around the map, you can have those RaR instances on how the player decides to navigate the map. Best used examples are the short exposed route vs long covered route. One is faster but has less cover which means higher chance of being picked off while the other is slower but higher chance of getting there.

This claim is completely unsubstantiated. The massive, over-arching problems that sprint introduces are well documented and widespread. Certainly, Reach, The 4, and Guardians all have other problems of their own that are not directly related to sprint, but almost none of them have the far-reaching impacts of sprint. And, to be frank, whether everyone questioning whether they should buy modern Halo games are thinking explicitly of sprint is completely irrelevant. The simple fact of the matter is that sprint DRASTICALLY changes the flow of the game. It changes how the game FEELS on a fundamental level. When people are lumping modern “Halo” and Call of Duty in with one another as brain dead dudebro console shooters, it is pointless additions like sprint, clamber, and smart-link that are reinforcing that aesthetic on a surface level. Those are the mechanics that 343 have openly included to appeal to the Call of Duty audience. Ex-Halo players don’t need to understand the underlying causes of this change for the worse to notice it and dislike it. And they very clearly dislike it, no matter how many excuses you try to make or other problems you try to shift the blame to.
To answer your question: yes. Along with a laundry list of other idiotic design decision 343 has made. Motion tracker enabled in competitive. Clamber, which introduces many of the problems with sprint to the jumping mechanics (because 343 are incompetent). No real social playlists. Laughable weapon balance and a weak utility weapon. Long kill times with the easiest and most plentiful defensive options ever featured in a Halo game. Cluttered maps designed to enforce the use of Spartan Gimmicks. Meta that revolves entirely around spacing for team shot and collapsing on spawns.

if done right, it could fix a lot of issues bringing Halo to beeing closer to what I “fell in love” with, so yes it would help
What’s funny about this thread is that the anti-sprinters just want a H3 clone even though they get mad when someone points it out! H3A is probably coming out next fall and you can have your no-sprint Halo.

Except not. H3 is only the 3rd best Halo. Also, even for the people that love Halo 3 and are anti-sprint, they’re not saying “I want H3: Two”. Stop generalizing.
Also, MCC is basically H3 Anniversary. That’s all everyone votes for anyway.
EDIT: Also, I’ve yet to see a legitimate argument from you for why Halo needs sprint, and/or why it’s good for the game.

Bruh they do want a Halo 3: Two, they want the same gameplay and everything with a new campaign. They don’t want a Halo 3 Anniversary, because they want new from the old.
I would give 343 a lot of credit if they decided to stop copying other games and go back to true Halo. They can innovate on what made the original Halo games great without trying to appeal to the CoD/Destiny/Battlefield communities.
I dislike Reach for a number of reasons, but my biggest complaint about it is how it has affected map design. Halo 1-3 all had incredibly memorable multiplayer maps that felt unique and had a remarkable design. Maps in recent Halos have fallen far short of the quality set by their predecessors, and I blame sprint for that.

You polled everyone? They all want the same, H3: Part 2? Could it be they refer to it due to its ability to be an excellent halo game? Generalizations are fun when you’d like to cast off opposition to a discussion as irrational or inherently “regressive”.

And? Why are you now talking about the MCC? Were talking about the future, 3 is done. Its possible to innovate outside of movement mechanics. Its possible to go from H2-3 and innovate. We saw this, did you? Not one person is calling for H3: part 2. You’ve created a straw man.

Halo 5 has one dinky slide, another thruster push, and a semi-thruster push in the Spartan Charge, there is not NEED for UNLIMITED sprint; LIMITED sprint should solve the problem here.

Obviously you’re overlooking what the conversation was saying and are taking it out of context. As the guy said earlier, everyone in MCC votes to play Halo 3, I agree.
And in case you haven’t noticed, this whole thread has talked about going back to halo 3 and referring to how the game should return to it.

I’ve said this multiple times and I’ll say it again, sprint has no downsides and lowering my weapon for a quick speed boost in order to get a power weapon is a risk and getting the power weapon is the reward. The maps are bigger now and I like that because they’re no longer crowded and people aren’t spawning right next to each other.

Iya, Yes people vote for H3 over anything else in the MCC in the cross game playlists. Again, not one person has said lets go back to H3 with a 70 FOV HUD. Straw man is silly. Iya in mandarin is essentially “oh damn it” I know multiple languages should be avoided.
