Clamber was the only Spartan Ability should have been added.

This mechanic would also support the player’s gun always staying up, which creates endlessly more opportunities for intense, fast-paced, gunfights. A constant fast speed paired with a constant gun ready facilitates an environment with constant combat, with little time to breathe between encounters.

Doom’s movement feels more like actual Halo movement than Halo 5’s does, but apparently the kids on this forum are concerned about Halo copying other games only when those games PLAY MORE LIKE HALO THAN THE CURRENT HALO GAME DOES. “Doom’s movement feels more like actual Halo movement than Halo 5’s does.”
Note the bold word and reflect on how silly your response is. Nonetheless, if I was referring to how the game OVERALL plays, I would still probably give it to Doom. Halo 5 barely resembles Halo in terms of aesthetics OR mechanics. If you told me it was a fan made total conversion for a Call of Duty game, I wouldn’t be that surprised, but I would wonder why they thought that god-awful art style was a good idea.
Not sure what possible relevance the comparison to Doom 1993 has to the conversation, but there it is.
Maybe there should be a energy bar for running
I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and I’ve come to the conclusion that sprint is not needed.
If they need faster movement just make the base movement speed faster, sprint is just a mechanic that you do out of habit just to move faster, they could easily just make Spartans faster to make the gameplay not feel slow. They could also make the maps smaller to make faster gameplay.
I used to think sprint was fine because I started out on shooters with black ops 1, sprint is just a habit I do because im supposed to.
If sprint was gone that would mean that turrets would be more useful too, but there are negatives. Without sprint I don’t think there would be a way to slide, which sliding can make for some great map interaction and different ways to traverse the map, such as sliding to cover or through a hole. You also wouldn’t be able to Spartan charge, which although OP, could be balanced so there is a risk to using it.
Another positive is that jumping would have more skill involved since there is no sprint jumping (I think other Spartan abilities are fine)
One reason I could see sprint being justified is dual wielding. I think dual wield would be a good addition to halo 6 but it needs to be balanced so it isn’t OP.
Sprint being removed would make die hards happy because it is even closer to classic halo gameplay while the addition of Spartan abilities brings that necessary evolution to the halo meta to make the game different from every other halo.
TL;DR: Sprint isn’t necessary as it is a habit mechanic that can be worked around if you want to go faster. If you think sprint is perfect and removing it will ruin the new halo, you can always just play halo 5

I’m not exactly sure how I missed the bold words, but I’ll go ahead and bash my face into a wall.
Yes, DOOM’s movement undoubtedly feels more like Halo than Halo 5’s does.

So it would basically be Halo 4?

Which is why some people hate it; it feels more like halo than DOOM
I feel sprint is a must stay.

I’d rather have dualwuilding over sprint

1st: *Duel wielding. 2nd: Why? As much as I love duel wielding, and as much as I like sprinting, I’d rather keep sprint, It’s more tactical, and actually requires some thinking when doing it.

Dual wielding because it follows the halo lore where Spartans can move fast and shoot all directions. Sprint I hate because it’s the #1 reason I die a lot. Players just won’t actually stay in combat no more. Everybody is always running away from eachother. Also this a simulation that is to train is to be better Spartans. So far I only seeing us being trained to run away from our enimies. Sprint can stay but I would rather it be an armor ability like in reach where it can only be used here and there.

Yes, I can see where you are coming from with that, sprinting in H5 (At least to me.) is more of a tactical choice, you lose the ability to fire, but you get faster speed to evade the enemy, If you shoot someone in the back, and they sprint away, it’s the same from other halo’s, they run to try and heal and get the advantage from you. In H5 it’s no different, and if they try to sprint away, the only way they’re gonna heal if is they stop running, thereby slowing them down, and allowing you to catch up and kill them while they are low. It’s still halo, just with faster movement. And on duel wielding, I can see why they removed it, but I do feel like they should return it.

The only way they would return dual wielding is by removing sprint. Also if they took away ground pound and Spartan charge and thrust maybe. Because soon as they stop sprinting they thrust away.
Here’s an interesting thread from r/AskReddit. Just asking people the very general question (not even about Halo) of what do you have an extremely strong opinion of that’s ultimately unimportant?
> 2533274933089271;3865:
> The name of this stupid thread is “remove sprint to blah blah blah” right? You don’t want to remove sprint corporal! You want to change the sprint mechanic. So get off this thread and make one where you talk about sprinting while shooting. I see more people arguing for that change to sprint then the actual removal of sprint. I don’t disagree with your idea totally but the idea of getting rid of sprint entirely is stupid. If 343 implements a mechanic where you can sprint and shoot, then that would be cool.
Allowing players to shoot while “sprinting” is the same as removing sprint to most people. Don’t be rude, especially over semantics.
I believe their should be a no sprint skull in campain, and seprate playlists, example: ctf with sprint & another ctf mode with sprint.
Get ride of sprint make halo good agian. There is a reason that halo is dying because they have this dumb stuff in the game now.

They don’t care, they feel the need to get rid of anything bungie did because they want a Halo made in their “vision” regardless of what it does to the franchise.
Uhuh. And thei need to update the animations. The sprint animation is unnatural
Oh and removing sprint would mean adjusting the maps to a smaller scale or something
