‘goes on to enjoy ALL Halo games’
‘figures complainers gonna complain, and players gonna play’
I’ve noticed that many sprint supporters just want to feel fast regardless if it actually increases the pace of the game. You could make the pistol a 9sk and they would still feel fast even though their effectiveness as an individual player is being robbed from them.

Those complainers changed the direction halo 4 was going towards, be grateful. Do you have anything to offer other than a passive aggressive attempt to avoid a basic pros and cons argument? Preference is fine, yet there are tons of myopic replies along the lines “I like sprint it should stay”. Anything decent to add?
No, sprint is still a problem, one that we’ve been dealing with for the better part of a decade. If you’re truly curious as to why sprint is looked down on, I’ll explain if you’d like. I won’t argue, but if you ask questions I’ll inform you of the answers.
you increase the ase movement speed to equal your current top sprinting speed in halo 5 and people would still try to argue that the game would 3e slow without sprint…cuz for some reason people think you need a sudden 3urst of greater speed to get from point A to point…3 in order for the game to 3e “fast paced”

Yeah. I’ve liked every Halo. Regardless of what choices are made in this area, they have all been fantastic in my estimation. Sprint doesn’t matter. If people didn’t have sprint to gripe about, though, I defy you to tell me that people wouldn’t be griping just as vehemently about something else.
Long story short, I love all the Halo games. I loathe a community that feels their opinion or belief entitles them to call out a person with a different preference for a meaningless video game simply because they don’t like a feature and want lock-step synchronization with their own ideas. Get over your ego; I have some mountain climbing gear you could borrow.
Meanwhile, I’ll be enjoying Halo, especially 4 and 5. You tell me who’s having more fun and making a better use of their time.

Due to the halo fans eye of the series at this moment in time, many PlayStation players see no incentive in purchasing an Xbox because the past two halo games have been played up to be the worst in the franchise.

It released against CoD4, the Orange Box and Bioshock, Gears of War was less than a year old, and games like Frontlines: Fuel of War, Quake Wars and R6 Vegas 2 were just around the corner. It just sold better because it was the better game, that’s it.

After a 12-14 year absence from all video games/ing … I returned to videogame due to an unforeseen tragic event. That being said …
I only purchased the XBox One to purchase Halo 5 Guardians, to play Halo 5 Guardians, to play Halo games. Your theories are debunked, because you have not taken me, players like me, into consideration. You failed to recognize an entire market share of player.
The original player of Halo. The 45 year old female/male who now has the time to play & invest into his/her favorite game of all time; and will now do so.

Well if you go into a Halo game with absolutely zero expectations, of course you’re going to enjoy it.
If your Halo experience is all unicorns and rainbows then I question why you’re even in this thread. But good for you, bud! I can assure you that I’ll never stop criticizing Halo along with many others, so sorry not sorry. Now move along if you have nothing of value to add.

Ok, so before sprint, what did people constantly argue this much about for six years?

We cant play the what if game with history, all we have is now and this is the most debated topic for some reason.
This is a forum, we have rules against calling people out and we also encourage discussion, you’re still posting.
Not sure where you find an ego in asking to discuss whether the mechanic is worthwhile or not.
Mid-20s on a doctoral in econ, only because you asked.
I get it that you like nu-halo. The whole point of this debate is to offer whether or not this mechanic is worthwhile in the franchise going forward. You’ve been avoiding a meaningful discussion on the mechanics inclusion aside from the general “I like it” post. The whole point of this forum is to offer opinions and counter arguments, especially in a topic like this. Do you have anything to offer why it’s inclusion is needed or why its necessary going forward? Why cant we implement a movement system that doesn’t hinder combat? See this is the type of questions that should be the focal point of discussion, you’re welcome to engage.
Sprint is staying. It’s official. 343 already announced H5 will not have any major gameplay changes so it isn’t going anywhere. If anything, there will be damage buffs and nerfs, a new mechanic (hopefully something like equipment) and maybe some new guns or a new grenade (please let it be the firebomb grenade)

As noted multiple times before the discussion is on the use of the mechanic in future iterations, not 5. A simple skim of the thread would show this, especially early on.

But will it always be? There are very few mechanics added to Halo over the years that have actually stood the test of time. What is so special about sprint?
Ordinance and AAs and load outs weren’t basic gameplay mechanics, they are just additions for a variation in the gameplay and when 343 saw that people didn’t like that, they took them out. But sprinting is now a basic movement mechanic. The only thing 343 would take out gameplaywise is the Spartan abilities as those are changes to make a variation in the gameplay.
People complaining about sprint really is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Super soldiers that can only jog? really? Sprint was broken in H4 because it didn’t have the shield aspect, but in H5, sprint is balanced. Sprint is not the problem here, it’s the ability associated with sprint - shoulder charge. I bet if H6 has sprint and no shoulder charge, people would not mind it so much, so don’t take your hate and salt out on sprint because it belongs in a game like Halo.

The dumbest thing I’ve ever heard is justifying a multiplayer mechanic with immmersion/realism. The shield aspect is hardly a solution. They’re just masking the problems of a needless mechanic with another needless mechanic, which (surprise surprise) also brings its own set of issues.
