The sprint discussion thread

Personally I feel that the faster pace of Halo 5 is only whats keeping me coming back. That and the great additions they’ve made.

If Halo 6 didn’t have sprint I would probably play it and eventually get bored and never come back.
That being said sprint or not sprint is not what makes Halo Halo.

why slow? no sprint= no springt->Thruster->slide->jump. when i have to “walk” this way i´m not so fast, i´m slow.
And sorry but i like this movement style.

Your service record would beg to differ.

Yeah! People hated the old formula even though it was changed unnecessary while successful.

So am I seriously expected to take someone seriously who hasn’t really played the previous multiplayers and is bad at the new one?

In addition to even starts and the golden triangle:
Always being able to shoot, melee, and use grenades at all times.

So increase Base Movement Speed. There, problem solved. No need to shoehorn in a mechanic that disables the ability to shoot in a First Person Shooter.
I also don’t get what Thruster and Jump have to do with this…

Halo 5 wasn’t successful? Wut? Still the top grossing Halo yet. And what were people saying when it came out? It would die?

Yet…It didn’t? And I can still find games from Pakistan super dang quick. Your who base for countering his argument that there is a new generation of people playing Halo is that 3 did well then so it will do well now. Thats poor logic.

Oh, you destroyed my argument. The only thing that could save me is if those sales numbers also included XBox sales and microtransactions as a way of getting people to forget it sold less copies that ODST.

i like the sprint movement more as a faster Base Movement. And thruster have to do a little bit with the new movement i think^^

if you play halo 5 would you knew what I mean with “thruster->slide->jump”, but you do not play. ;))

Fair enough. You are allowed to. I have no problem with people liking the new mechanics. It’s the people that deny that the gameplay has changed or shout condescending buzzphrases like “Git Gud”, “Don’t like it, don’t use it” or “A super soldier should sprint because reasons” that I take issue with. (Not saying that you are, not at all!)

Oh, I remember. You’re talking about this? Wasn’t it patched out?

EDIT: I gave you a like for being the first civilized sprint supporter in this thread in ages. Thank you for that. Wish there were more of you.

So Xbox sales alone accounted for the massive launch right? As microtranscations are kinda hard to buy before launch. Great counter there. ODST has sold roughly 6 million copies in its life. And according to Frank O’Conner Halo 5 sold 5 million in 3 months. Crazy. Man. Crazy.

Not only that you ignored the part where I said games are still found super quick.

I’m for sprint but that would be a nice alternative. People who like sprint still get to feel faster than older halo games and anti-sprinters don’t have sprint in the game, it’s a win for everyone

No, nononono it´s not patched out. i think this movement is one of the greatest things in H5.
IMO the faster base movement make more sense in Shooter like Quake or UT but not in Halo.

Xbox Bundles that included the game, themed controllers, a 250 bucks legendary edition, the fact that XBone games have increased in price compared to 360 games, and so forth…
H5G didn’t sell five million units, it shipped five million units, a large part of which are now catching dust on store shelves. The total sales of the game right now are probably slightly below five million, and that is only if the game was ridiculously popular in digital, because retail is still below four million.

Spartans are able to sprint and shoot precisely at the same time, confirmed in lore and past games. They’re super soldiers. The sprint mechanic destroys that concept.

So, if sprint was to be removed, no matter what implementations and changes are done, the sprintless Halo would be a reskin / remaster of Halo 3?
Instead of perfecting the old playstyle and attracting new fans / players based on that, it’s better to make a new playstyle inspired by existing game which said players already play?

No no no I am a halo vet and I personally think sprint made it more chaotic and fast paste

If they did remove sprint I would not really like to play eny more cuase I feel like I came back to the franchise due to sprint and the new art style I hated the old
