Nah, we’re the majority. Prove me wrong.

The fact of the matter, Sprint won’t be removed in Halo 6 or any Halo game after for the simple fact that it has become too mainstream in Halo games, now that doesn’t mean classic playlists won’t exist in future Halo titles, but Sprint will still be around, you can’t fight it, only accept it.

Wasn’t that MCC? It would’ve work to play classic Halo all remastered if it wasn’t broken with bugs and bad Matchmaking.

Removing sprint removes an extra variable in Map design. It allows one to balance a map based around a constant speed.

The perfect example of this is the H2 remake of Headlong in Halo 5. This map is broken* with sprint and clamber. You can get to far to many areas that would have been inaccessible before. The Valhalla remake is another example. You can circumvent the map far to quickly with sprint.

With 2 variables, the Developers are in a tough spot when it comes to balance. When you increase Base Movement speed, do you also buff sprint? There needs to be a noticeable difference to offset the penalty of not being able to charge shields. If you think sprint speed is perfect as is, then your stuck with a slower than ideal base movement speed. If a Developer decides to balance based combining sprint AND base movement into one variable, then they run into the problems** with we’re seeing.

Seeing a “Classic” play list would only really work for smaller arena maps or specially made forge maps. Warzone maps require sprint (Unless you go pure ninja build) and not sprinting puts you at a disadvantage.

*Broken in the sense that it may look like Headlong, but it doesn’t play like headlong.
**To Clarify, I don’t 100% hate sprint, but it makes it so that any map that is a remake of classic halo 1/2/3 isn’t fun at all to me. These are the problems I am referring to.

3,224 posts, and I have one response:

No.

I think that’s one of the reasons why maps are so forgettable these days. Off the top of my head I don’t think there are any maps most people would consider classics from Reach, H4 or H5. Maybe “good” maps, but none that would be considered “one of the best” in the series. That’s because so many mechanics forces maps to accommodate for so many different variables. Map design is less focused and more watered down.

Spot on. I can’t think of any H5 (arena) maps that I would put in my top 25. The 1 halo 4 map I like, I can’t even think of it’s name…which tells you how memorable it is.

Makes an outrageous and unsupported statement and asks someone else to prove him wrong. This literally adds no debate or argument since you are just going to shoot down any reasonable response with:
“No you’re wrong, I’m right, prove me wrong.”
Totally makes me unlikely to read and take anything you post seriously.

I rather have Halo push forward and try new things (Not leave every thing behind Elites, customization etc.) but if we just a make Classic play list. No sprint, No smart scope, No thruster or charge. Then people would be happy. I mean just remake classic maps. Guardians, The Pit, Lockout and there. You have classic playlist with no sprint or Spartan Abilities but classic maps with classic gameplay.

So he would have to prove his statement as well then, correct?

>
>
>

Using clamber and sprint on a classic halo 2 map remake makes it a lot more fun

Me I think it should stay but increase the base movement speed which they decreased and make the maps more Halo in away but less on sprint. I think they should just make a classic playlist like people have been saying on the pages ago. Keeping a classic playlist and a modern playlist would be good.

Oh yeah, I would have to prove why my joke statement is true. Makes total sense.

Than you guys for reminding me why I had to stop coming here. The sheer ignorance in this topic is next level. Yikes.

How so? Is sprint good or a worthless mechanic? Explain rather than bump a topic you may not like.

I’m betting sprint is good.
