A majority of H5s player base does like sprint and so do the pros who test the games and give their feedback to 343. Also this thread is the epitome of beating a dead horse.

That’s a good way to explain because its true. They are beating a dead horse that dead already.

Sprint should stay! I love Sprint.

P.S. its crazy how many comments this thread has

Does the majority of people that played/bought Halo 5 like sprint? 343 took a poll themselves and even decided not to share the full results. Now, why would they do that?

It is, most of it is either arguments that lead no where or spam.

The 11% poll?

I don’t think those arrogant -Yoinks!- anticipated publicly LOSING not one, not two but THREE sprint polls.
Don’t believe me? Here’s a link.

If I ran a poll on Waypoint with one option negative of something 343 does, it’d win in a heartbeat. I don’t even really understand why these guys want to make Halo anymore but whatever, at least I’m getting new games in my favourite series.

Vocal minority. If people are happy with Halo, they aren’t frequenting the forums or the subreddit for Halo.

The only way you’ll get real, usable poll results is if the next time you started up Halo 5, you had to answer the question of Does sprint belong in Halo? With a simply “yes or no” option.

I could totally see a whole Brexit type thing happening here

I think 11% is fair enough. I mean, 11% said they did not want it in Halo. There’s also such a thing as artistic license, or the video game equivalent.

I dont think 11% of pure opposition is enough for you to seriously think about something you want to add into Halo. Not nearly enough to make you think twice.

I didn’t know about polls because I became a Waypoint member they ended.

Really? Can you give me quotes where they said they like sprint? If you can’t, then why are you assuming they do? The pros test their game, but that doesn’t mean they have the final say on gameplay decisions. If 343 wanted sprint in the game or other abilities even if the pros didn’t, all the pros could do would be to test how it works on the maps and adjust things accordingly.

That was the people that said they didn’t want sprint in H5, but notice how they didn’t mention any of the other percents. You have to assume that I hate sprint and I love sprint weren’t the only two options and there could’ve been in-between answers.

No, see, in everyones outrage at that poll, they didn’t actually stop to read and notice 343’s typically careful wording. If you’re unaware the survey had five answers, “strongly disagree”, “slightly disagree”, “indifferent”, “slightly agree” and “strongly agree”.

343 actually told us the percentage of people that “strongly disagree” with sprint (exact quote: “strongly prefers to play without sprint”). They didn’t even include the people that slightly disagree or even the people that do agree with sprint. In other words, that 11% didn’t even represent all of the people that voted and prefered to not have sprint. They basically said, “there are people that don’t like sprint”. Yeah, no -Yoink-, but that 11% told us next to nothing.

I don’t doubt the results of their survey, but we have not been given those results and since 343 very clearly has always wanted sprint in the game, it’s not hard to see why they choose that one particular percentage to share with us.

Its also the percentage of people who actually showed what they want. Both slightly agree and slightly disagree can be attributed to what you were arguing about when you said that the majority of players dont know why they like something, or what they want.

What about this?I know its Josh Holmes, and the whole Team Beyond - Breakout fiasco with regards to SnakeBite and other pros is still fresh in most online Halo commenters’ minds. However, at best we have a stalemate. Arguments from two sides with vested interest in one outcome. But, as creators of Halo, they do have that ability.

I’m pretty sure that if the pros didn’t like sprint they would tell the devs to get rid of it since MS is so dependent on mlg they would do so if the pros said to drop sprint.

Doesn’t really matter who the people were that voted for slightly. There was no reason not to tell us the entirety of the results if they were comfortable with sharing them.

And no, I’m not necessarily gonna believe what Josh said. He’s lied on multiple occasions. He specifically said “strongly” which wouldn’t be an accurate representation even if it did include both disagree options. It’s never gonna stop being suspicious when every poll on the internet was against sprint, except the one they made. Perhaps if 343 didn’t have a history of lying and misleading, it would be easier to believe, but that’s not the case.

The pros are not game designers, they have no say in what’s in or out. They however provide feedback on how to best balance mechanics and features.

> 2533274858416909;3117:
> No. Sprint is a realistic feature. Spartans are capable of running. I know that’s hard to believe but its true. I think the reason most of you are upset about sprint is because you can’t snipe slow moving targets anymore or maybe the game moves too fast for you. But seriously sprint is here to stay and I honestly don’t know why you guys hate it so much. Seriously explain it to me someone.

Bull.
Spartans can also shoot while sprinting. Which is also what they should be doing in the games, instead of abandoning their means of defending themselves in the middle of a warzone.
If anything, the game is too slow now, because you can only move at a snail’s pace while fighting or relocate without any offensive capabilties. You are confined to a small space during an encounter, then have to run around like a headless chicken for extended periods of time while looking for other players in a game of “Where’s Waldo?”.
What people want is not a slower speed, but faster movement with the ability to engage in combat. Your strawman-scenario with the slow moving targets is way off…

A new HALO without sprint would be a failure, I’ve played enough OLD HALO and still can travel down memory lane with the MCC if I get the urge
