I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!

Why are you complaining about something you’ve never experienced?

exactly so there you go its over now this topic.

Why does the title of that article totally contradict the info in the article lol? Holy click bait.

Why is sprint good for the game?

Personally I like sprint. I like to have it there when I need to run away to heal and is especially useful in large maps. But I don’t need it, I’ve noticed I’ve been sprinting less and less because you can’t sprint if you want to heal. In breakout, sprinting is only used by me and my teammates to get to the middle of the map and not used after that. I would love it if there was a game type where sprint wasn’t allowed.

I don’t even sprint any more that much only to get point a to b but none thing else.

> > Why is it that no-one makes some valid arguments or evidence to back up claims on the topic of a no-sprint halo? Personally I have no issue with anyone bringing up such things as map-stretching or sadbox hinderance on the part of sprint, but no-one seems to show i.e some map comparisons, measurements or something of similar caliber to actually back up these claims. ,Just because the game flow is different doesn’t mean that halo is “ruined” or “dead”. Custom games allow oppurtunity to design, play and manipulate the game to be played without sprint, so why not go try that out, and then with a fresh mind try to explain how the two game styles compare and how halo would benefit without the sprint mechanic. In these situations where halo is a very unstable franchise you should not be able to sucessfully propagate non-justified anecdotal evidence, just to make the game developers feel split and bow down for the sole reason that the fanbase are crybabies. I just ask anyone, with any opinion, to evaluate it on a fundemental level before posting it to the public. I am not criticising OP directly, or his/her opinion, but rather suggesting to take a step back, rewrite this forum post, and then get a healthy discussion going. Thanks!

I was hoping that the OP of this thread would consider bringing these examples up on the post rather than you as a commenter. Of course I understand that someone has under these years compared the maps of the diffrent games, but this forum post is bringing itself a lot of attention, and it does not contribute to the discussion in any way besides pressuring 343 to make perhaps unjustifed choices in development of future halo games. I would retract this frankly too wide statement of mine if OP actually brought these stuff up. I was perhaps to broad when saying that “no-one” has done what you clearly sourced me, but I was talking in the context of these unnessecary forum posts hating on the sprint mechanic without backing it up.

With sprint you’re limited to moving faster in one direction and maps aren’t designed around players needing to hold out knives to make certain jumps, unlike in halo 5 where you must sprint to get to certain places. Compromises aren’t needed to fit that into the game like how Spartan charge is a compromise to get sprint into halo.

> It doesn’t. That is not sprint. It is literally the same thing as holding a sword in halo 5. Now compare sprinting and holding a sword in halo 5 and tell me that’s the same thing. One is a movement mechanic, the other is to make a close ranged weapon more effective.

To sprint makes close ranged weapons more effective. Just because it does not have an animation and let’s you melee does not mean that CS:GOs knife related movement speed increase can’t be compared to any form of sprint. It is true that they are not directly similar, but in some ways CS:GOs form of “sprint” and halos form of sprint do relate. For example you lose the ability to fire, but you can still melee. CS:GOs form of “sprinting” just serves a differnt purpose.

He was being sarcastic. He’s saying he can use Waypoint with a different gamertag than his xbox gamertag.

Oh, different GT or not I want proof or else this guy never played Halo. Plus use your GT that you use for Halo. Its easier and less annoying for people to go on your service record.
