But, there is a no sprint option in Customs, right?
I think sprint is essential and also critical when it comes to dangerous situations. Think about it; without sprint, how will we able to avoid enemy fire before reaching cover? How will one be able to escape a collapsing bridge(like the one in Battle of Sunaion)? How will one be able to reach the objective at the end of the campaign level before succumbing to death with the enemy right behind you(like the flood for instance when you are trying to reach the goal for the index on The Library.)? I think sprint was added to make the game feel more realistic. Making the game mechanic essential for some critical situation. Without sprint, we’d be walking around like a robot with some form of limited mobility. Take it from C3po, “Cursed my metal body, I wasn’t fast enough!”
I wasn’t too big into sprint but now I just want sprint in Infection…

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!

“don’t sprint at all in game” is such a flawed argument. I like sprint, but lets pretend I don’t. What you’re saying is I should put myself at a disadvantage because I don’t care for a mechanic? I shouldn’t have to explain how silly that idea is. Why don’t we fix both our problems and push for a classic, no sprint, playlist? Me and you keep our beloved sprint, and the anti-sprint gets a mode that caters to them, everyone wins, right?

So, basically, you’re implying that sprint is a “Runaway Like A Whimpering Grunt” button? Sprint isn’t for running away from danger, Spartan, it’s for running towards it!
Sprint isn’t the main issue.

But sprint is bad in the sense that it needlessly forces maps to get bigger, which forces weapon range to increase as a whole, which takes away from a lot of Halo’s special CQC. Sprint is simply an illusion for that reason, only serving for what people like to call “immersion.” However, I think its more immersive when these soldiers are moving in a more tactical manner as opposed to everyone sprinting for every 2 yards they need to cover, which doesn’t really look immersive at all. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.”

You’re right, Halo 5 has a plethura of REAL issues bringing down the game. Buggy REQ system, downright awful campaign, lack of staple features (i.e. splitscreen, campaign theater, etc…), broken theater, and so much more Halo 5 still has a lot of growing to do…

No I’m not saying put yourself at a disadvantage. Not sprinting doesn’t put you at a disadvantage. I’m saying you don’t have to and its not flawed. I don’t sprint some games and do fine. I don’t necessarily care about the mechanic either but your opinion isn’t wrong its flawed. If you can’t provide a neutral argument that balances the tide then you will go for one side of the argument. My neutral argument is, DONT SPRINT IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, but the option is there for those who do plus I stated we need a NO SPRINT OPTION in customs. Get it now? I’m not flawed I’m fair . . .

When you purists start whining about sprint and the other abilities, you just come across as old guys afraid of change. Evolve or get left behind. I’m really getting sick of all these threads. If you’re so disgusted with Halo and the direction it’s going, stop playing it. Seriously. Stop buying it. Stop playing. Stop coming to the forums posting the same nonsense over and over. The best way to get your point across would be to round up and organize the rest of the purists and boycott the game.

That’s also because the Xbox One hasn’t sold well in the slightest whereas ODST was released on the king console of the time difference in the audience and I mean 5 million still selling better than my book

The maps themselves are designed around sprint because 343 wants sprint to impact the game. With the stretching of maps to make sprint more viable, you’re putting yourself at a strong disadvantage without using sprint because it’s an important spartan ability in halo 5 for traversing the map. Just because one player doesn’t use sprint, doesn’t eliminate the possibility that his opponent will use sprint in the same game, and it is especially detrimental to carry on this tactic in strongholds or CTF when you need to reach your objectives as quickly as possible. The lack of using a mechanic doesn’t eliminate its impact on game design, and you would be naive if you thought so.
No one wants to walk a full 10mile map, It’s just right out cruel. The sprint is the best thing in my opinion that happened to halo. (In my opinion.)
> 2533274973685362;4:
> didn’t even bother reading it because it is the dumbest topic out there right now. Just because it has sprint doesn’t mean its not Halo. It’s one whole mechanic, that’s it. If you don’t like sprint, don’t sprint. Problem solved.
Idiot, first of all, im not even going to explain it to you unless you proove it’s worth my time, but sprint changes a ton of things just to make it work, and all these changes stop it from being halo. Also not sprinting puts you at a severe disadvantage, so you have to sprint idiot. Put at least half a coherent thought into your arguments before you post them and make yourself look stupid.
I say keep the sprint but limit it to a certain amount of time or distance.

> No one wants to walk a full 10mile map, It’s just right out cruel. The sprint is the best thing in my opinion that happened to halo. (In my opinion.)
The speed to map size ratio from halo 3 to halo 4 is exactly the same. They stretched out the maps to do so, so its pointless to have done it because it didn’t accomplish anything. It actually SLOWS DOWN the gameplay because you aren’t constantly going at the equivalent of the sprint speed because you need to shoot.
It’s pretty much standard these days. It’s like asking to have jump removed cause wolfenstien didn’t have it.
NO!!! Sprint is good! It should be kept!
The fact that this topic continually gets as much attention as it does from both camps is really telling how divided the community is on the subject. Being someone who started his halo playing days in halo 3 I can tell you that I’m in the no sprint side, but I have friends from back then that love sprint in halo. I think it’s one of those issues that everyone will always be split on. But my question is how did 343 come to a decision that sprint was the more popular of the two? I don’t think because cod and battlefield were doing it are good answers. Halo didn’t need sprint to be successful, so why was it added?
argue me this, if I sprint from one end of truth to the other in the same time as I get from one end of midship to the other in H2, what is sprint doing in halo 5? The answer is it’s an illusion of speed, you aren’t getting anywhere faster than you would in H2 or H3 without sprint but you feel like you’re going fast. Halo doesn’t need sprint, it never did, but I’ll just gladly play halo 5 because this is my franchise as much as it is to the pro sprint people. We’re a community and we need to continue to have this discussion because its something we’re passionate about.
Stay constructive and don’t dismiss a topic simply because your opinions differ.
