Because of the huge skill gap in this highly competitive game.

Crouching in a corner with your SMG after escaping a losing gunfight and ambush the enemy with a spray and pray weapon? None of those tactics require critical thinking to properly execute, besides MAYBE the ground pound kill. And yes, a pro team still destroys nooby players in halo, JUST LIKE COD. I don’t see how that automatically makes halo a skilled shooter. There are a lot of other things that make halo 5 less skilled than just their implementation of sprint, which I won’t get into for the sake of being on-topic.

Again, none of those counters you make after being chased by a pursuing opponent take any skill to execute. In CQC, GP is extremely easy to pull off, especially when you have a radar to follow enemy movement without the need to even see where they are. Crouching in the corner with the 2nd easiest close range (tier 1) weapon is not skillful either when there is no risk in you dying because of how fast the gun kills compared to every precision weapon in the game. I also don’t get your accusation of my so called “contradiction.” There is no critical thought in simply slowing down the encounter by mindlessly running away from a losing gunfight with so much cover in the game because of how disadvantageous the game makes the player who tries to chase his opponent. You never have to work for your kill when waiting around the corner for a chasing opponent because halo 5’s game design does it for you.
> > > > > > > When you add such a defensive mechanic in the game (combined with the power of thrust), you present such a free get out of jail card that cheapens the advantage of getting first shot on an enemy or even being in a more advantageous position. Because of this factor, you ultimately slow down the pace of a game even when your original intent was to make the game more fast paced. With how slow your starting pistol kills in the game, you give the enemy a longer time to react accordingly, thereby mitigating the advantage of ambushing players. He or she can then just run off and alert his or her teammates to your position, or just camp around the corner while you are forced to not chase, because how punishing the decision is. You can’t just sprint in because your gun is disabled while sprinting, and you can’t walk either because you give the enemy more time to plan his next move and regain his shields. For such a risky play, the game doesn’t reward you much for proper execution anyways as you’ll be cleaned up by another enemy who saw his teammate die from you.

I guess you don’t understand the definition of the word ‘bigoted’… Lol Pretty sad
I dont enjoy Breakout, at all… Do you see me crying about it and claiming it ruined Halo until it caters to my wants?? Nope, because i’m not a loser…
Seeing that I have over double the amount of time invested into Halo 5, i think i spend enough time playing it. You are trying so hard but still aren’t winning any logic points lol
Oh yeah, i’m a blast to hang out with.
you should be banned from posting for the rest of your life, OP. don’t need to explain myself as to why it should stay and will stay until the end of Halo, the rest of the 2.5k posts already did.

Ok, so maybe you can explain why sprint is good for the game?

Hilarious post xD, Umm. yeah I dont care if that is your “executive descision” you have failed to present an argument to a pretty fair compromise proposal. C: so, yeah dont care.
Sprint needs to be out of the campaign so that players and reviewers cant rush through the level and miss out on so many details that you wouldnt have been able to otherwise see although as someone earlier pointed out that is due to poor campaign design as well. However I feel sprint should also be removed from the competetive scene because it allows for a wider skillgap to be added, random elements reduce the skillgap, with the ability to quickly traverse the map its up to chance whether or not your next opponent will appear directly behind you even if you just spawned I belive that halo 5 343 maps are as good as a map can be in a game with sprint in it however for the competitive side it just makes ZERO sense. Im not going to say sprint is an illusion because I myself enjoy its implementation in warzone, however. I believe that these facets of the game would do nothing if not improve if sprint was removed

I have never seen more getting out of fights for free in any other Halo game. Bear in mind that I am primarily referring to PRECISION fights, because the the way this game is balanced makes close-quarters spray fests the most consistent way to end encounters. The bold text has never been less true in any Halo game.

> Yes, they nerfed sprint. But use your brain for a bit, skip. What else did they do? They added, thrust, an ability that allows you to move instantly (faster than sprint) in any direction horizontally. It also allows for a quick speed b oost if you’re trying not to sprint to get your shields back. They added slide, which allows you to make yourself a smaller target while maintaining sprint speed. You can also thrust into a slide for even more speed. You can use ground pound to hover in the air behind cover you wouldn’t normal be able to use. They added vastly more map clutter and easy escape routes. They made “skill” jump routes easier with clamber. Motion tracker enabled in competitive play allows you to see exactly where your pursuer is and do annoying nonsense like playing cat and mouse behind cover when you’re one shot.

> Are you honestly saying that, in your experience, people don’t just thrust behind cover at medium to long range and run away if they think they’re going to lose fight? Are we even playing the same game? Sprint is hardly the only mechanic that promotes passive play and makes it easier to run away. And it’s still a pointless mechanic in this game.
I legit pay attention and stay fight I sometimes fight and die

Im not suggesting we remove sprint alltogether it would still stay as an option in custom games and of course half of the social playlists, also warzone. its would just be cut out of the forefront of the franchise which is campaign and competetive…

Coming onto waypoint and saying sprint kills the skill gap is absurd and completely false. A pro team would still destroy a team of noobs… Why? Because of the huge skill gap in this highly competitive game.

> > > > > > > > > > > What tricky things have you actually done in utilizing sprint in order to trick your opponents for an easy kill, besides “i sprint into a room to lure them into a ground pound?” Some bait and switch tactics with your teammate? Crouching in a corner with your SMG after escaping a losing gunfight and ambush the enemy with a spray and pray weapon? None of those tactics require critical thinking to properly execute, besides MAYBE the ground pound kill. And yes, a pro team still destroys nooby players in halo, JUST LIKE COD. I don’t see how that automatically makes halo a skilled shooter. There are a lot of other things that make halo 5 less skilled than just their implementation of sprint, which I won’t get into for the sake of being on-topic.

> > > > > > > > > Assuming that I actually fall for these types of tricks just because I have the intelligence to list the most predictable responses for players after they sprint away from a gunfight they were supposed to lose is kind of stupid on your part.

When you have no criticism of the game in hand, you likely offer no meaningful discussions due to your bias in how good the game is and come up with ridiculous/botched responses signifying your intolerance of constructive criticism of halo 5.

Because its fun to shoot try hards like you that sprint away thinking it’ll help you escape. lol

If they could’ve had sprint in Halo CE, it would’ve been in the game and nobody would be complaining about it now. In fact, if Bungie got their way and had the technology, Halo would’ve been Destiny from the start…
I find it hilarious how these people complain so much about such a little thing, especially since you cant even recharge a shield while sprinting. If it wasnt sprint, they’d complain about something else.

If it’s such a little thing, then why argue to defend it?

What are you on about? A sprint mechanic could’ve been implemented in CE (look at the SPV3 mod in CE’s engine) AND Bungie tried implementing it into H2 early into development, but scrapped it because of pacing issues. It’s never been a matter of “can we add this?” but of “should we add this?” The bit about Halo being Destiny if Bungie “had their way” is utter hogwash too.
You say Sprint is such a small and insignificant thing, yet it’s been pointed out how it affects so many facets of the game. If you really believe that Sprint is so minor, then why do you even care if it’s there or not? Your argument invalidates itself.
I’ve noticed that both Sanctum and Zr0 are just blank accounts used for posting on waypoint and it wouldn’t surprise me of they belong to the same person and there’s probably more posting dumb stuff just so they have something to counter.
