Halo 4 and 5 is too I think since the maps are made for it.
> GAMES NEED TO FOLLOW THE TIMES THIS POST IS BS
No, that post is BS.
Popular games didn’t get to where they are today by playing follow the leader.
All that happens when games “follow the times” is you get a ton of extremely similar products too afraid to do anything different. Ironically that is what is truly preventing games from “evolving”.
Games don’t need to blindly adhere to trends. Rather mainstream console gamers need to broaden their horizons.
They are Spartans the need to be able to run walking around is bs… I need to run when I do
I feel like sprint is honestly just unneeded, and lowers the skill gap.

Halo 4 and 5 were designed around it as much as they could be. The problem is that 343 is trying to make Halo something else why keeping it similar to Halo. That won’t work. It would’ve been better for the actual gameplay if Halo 4 went full CoD (not mostly CoD like it did). Not saying that’s what people would’ve wanted, but it would’ve made the gameplay work better instead of being a mash up of systems that don’t make sense with each other, even if it wouldn’t be Halo.

Man. I appreciate that you try, but I have no idea what you think you’re saying here. It’s borderline gibberish. Read through through what you type before hitting Submit. It helps.
I’m saying sprint makes games slower and is incompatible with the basic concepts of Arena shooters. It’s different in that it is worse.

This is also a good point. The H5 controls are ridiculous. Hos is a casual player supposed to grasp all of this. Hell, you can’t even really properly play the game without an elite or a scuf because of how many buttons you need to be able to press while having thumbs on sticks.
Freeing up a button is a win.

I thought they were fine Halo 5. Just opinion.

I have a answer for that. Like Midship and Truth, the Halo 2 map and Halo 5. Truth was resized that sprint goes form point a to b the same time as Midship when you walk. So they made maps big enough so sprinting is the same as walking from point a to b. I don’t if this would make sense but am doing my best how explain it.

Yes. And this is why sprint does not make the game faster. I’m not sure what your point is. In order to move the equivalent distances in the same time on the stretched out remake of the bigger map, you have to put down your weapon and sprint. In Halo 2 you could move at maximum speed and still fight at all times. The result of this in H5 is that all the times that you’re moving at standard, non-sprint speed (i.e. in combat or expecting combat) you are moving slower relative to the size of the map. So, the net difference is a slower game. Of course, now we have nonsense like slide thrusts to further increase the difference between standard movement and “mobility options,” so the disparity is worse. And you can only move at optimal speeds while facing forward, much like you can only perform many jumps while facing forward, again slowing down the game. And that’s not even covering all of the ways that 343 has encouraged crouching walking around to stay off radar, which slows things down even more if you want to pull off a basic flank without your enemy knowing where you are through walls and floors.

Not the general trend, no. I haven’t kept track of my good buddy Nooga’s history, but in this case, if they created their Company now, it would be “since 2016.”

I do agree its not that fast paced. Maps are big enough still to make the game slower and not fast. I played Lockout remake on Halo 5 with friends. The map is the same size as the original and it was fast with sprint due to being small. I say if they keep sprint they need to make the maps smaller. Not because it would easier to find people but it would make it fast pace.
Sprint would be good for custom games and other things because then we can have parkour maps and other things dedicated to abilities. If sprint is in multiplayer it should atleast be an AA or a part of speed boost idk. I honestly dont mind either but I would be a bit more happy if it wasnt in, the reason for that is because it may be one of the biggest things to make halo feel the leastt halo. If you think about it while in a game, what makes this game feel the least halo? You might think the armor, you might think the maps, you might think the super polished look, or maybe the forruner weapons. Something you may over look is sprint because it has been made to seem very natural and just an every day part of the game. Think about it really it might make you change youre opinion over time, just think how many times do I end up using sprint or spartan abilities, but hey maybe thats just me. Anyways I wouldnt mind sprint and I would be ok without it too.

I wouldn’t say that you NEED to crouch walk to catch off guard due to the shortened radar but that’s how you snuck up on people in ALL of the other Halo’s

But that would make it far too easy to sprint between cover and it would overpower CQC weapons even further.
