So if your best friend was hit by a bus and stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, you’d think that was better?
I guess someone revived this topic so yeah
Halo 2 had sprint, but it has been removed before release

> How can you say that if some of the maps are remastered from games without sprint and other new maps are around the same sizes as those remastered maps? Even something like war zone has larger maps but they also allow you to pull vehicles out of thin air. Some of the maps may be large, but compared to maps like Vahalla and Coagulation that fit big team comfortably, war zone is fine. Its scaled up to comfortably fit 24 people, objectives and large vehicles regularly. No map was built so large that sprint is mandatory, it just helps to speed up gameplay and help you travel around faster. If there was a huge battle on the other side of the map and I had to casually walk their then I would be incredibly bored!
His point was that because of the inclusion of sprint, maps were made bigger. As such, sprint isn’t really helping you get anyway faster, because the maps were made bigger in order to cancel out that effect. It’s been proven with Midship from Halo 2, Heretic from Halo 3 and Truth in Halo 5. Midship and Heretic with just their base speed have the same traversal time as Truth does while using sprint.

No, it never had sprint. They tried it and decided against it because it screwed with the pacing of the game and here we are now with exactly that problem.

everytime is check this thread i see your name…glad someone has the patience to repeat themselves a million time…because i sure cant do it
Sprint Is Optional. Use it or don’t. For a lot of people it depends on if they played the old games or not.

yeah shooting your gun is optional too…see how well you do without doing that…its not about whether you are able to do something…its the fact that everyone else is able to do it…all not sprinting would do when everyone else can is put you at a disadvantage…same with all of the abilities

Me too and me too… Unfortunately a vocal minority is unwilling to accept the fact that the majority of Halo players want to keep sprint. And this topic had it’s day on these forums back in 2010, but someone refuses to ever let it die.

Prove it.
OP, sorry but were not going backwards to old school “slow” Halo. Deal w/ it … the world changed.

There is a third option. What if, and stay with me here, what if they removed sprint and made it not slow? I’m just spit ballin’ here, but what if they were able to do that?

I’ve been playing MCC recently and it seems like everyone spawns right next to each other because the maps are so small because of the lack of sprint. Bigger maps aren’t always a bad thing because when you respawn it gives you more time to strategize before going back into battle.
Again. It’s not the size of the map. It’s the scaling.

Truth be told not sprint doesn’t always harm you, in fact it’s much more beneficial to not sprint in arena, btb/warzone it’s a bit more necessary. A team of four not sprinting will be more prepared vs a team of sprinters in arena majority of the time, especially in swat. As for abilities, I really don’t see how you’re at a disadvantage for not grounding, shoulder charging, and even clamber. The thrusters are the only ones that help give an edge if you use it in a smart way, clambor is a 50/50 thing since some areas absolutes require it if you need to get a power up/power weapon.

sprint only puts you at a disadvantage if your damaged…and yeah if your going around a corner obviously you shouldnt sprint around it…but the fact that you say not using the abilities not only doesnt put you at a disadvantage…but is actually beneficial…no offense but that makes me think you dont actually play the game

Lol think it all you want, I see no possible way how ground pound or shoulder charge is beneficial. The only ability that can give you an advantage is clambor, and even then you can get shot at while using it while not having the ability to fire back. Please, indulge me as to how they’re beneficial? Wanna ground pound? I’m very good at dodging that and shooting you while you’re in the air, shoulder charge? More often than not I can also dodge that and if I don’t I melee the guy and even the ground to where a headshot from either of us does it. Clambor is a 50/50 thing to me, if you’re one of those guys who goes for power spots then it can help but you’re also easy prey when I see someone clambor up for the fuel rod on truth. That’s why I don’t see them beneficial. I’m also a positive player who maybe has 150 total ability kills since the games been out and I’m SR 112. You may see them as handicaps if one doesn’t use them, but I don’t. The only one I fully support as beneficial is thrusters.
This rant is out of pure ignorance, you give no argument’s for why sprint is bad. I don’t like sprint but it probably here for the long run regardless of what a small fraction of the community thinks. More people wanted sprint out of halo:reach and 4 which went no where. I don’t even think Microsoft would let them take it out as it " Modernizes " halo.

And the jetpack was tested out in CE, cut for obvious reasons.
On H2 sprint, if it was a sure fire good decision why would the not include it in their next two games (Halo3 and ODST)?

No you cant do that, its all or nothing!
I love the sprint because it makes combat a little more hectic out in multiplayer although I do agree that it should be taken out of competitive play, (Not including SWAT, imagine not having sprint in that? Headshots for days.) I don’t see the issue with it being in campaign though.
