I’ve waited so long for this. To unlock the rage of the anti-sprint group with one word.
Sprint stays due to Campaign, Warzone, and just because the simple act of removing sprint would be a weak move that the entire gaming community would jump on without mercy

Hard to feel immersed when we cant shoot and run at the same time. Silly

The first Halo game to add sprint (Reach) PLUMITED the Halo community. The first Halo game to add sprint as a standard mechanic (Halo 4) Ruined the franchise. Is this a coincidence? I think not! Maybe if 343 goes back to what was obviously working, they would make a truly great Halo game. Just look at Overwatch. No sprint… killing Halo 5 in just a few months of release as compared to Halo’s 7 months.

I think it would show that 343 has the balls to admit that they made a mistake and make a game that isn’t openly pining for the audiences of games like Call of Duty and Battlefield; a game with its own sense of identity. Post-sprint Halo has given the series a reputation for being yet another generic, brain dead shooter franchise for dumb bros. It’s right next to Call of Duty on the list of games it’s cool to hate. I wonder why? Maybe it’s because the developers’ idea of “innovation” for the series is copying popular trends and compressing the skill gap for kids with no thumbs who want to feel like a beast with their AR?

you mean “hard to feel immersed when we cant sprint and run at the same time. silly”
Try it dude. It does not work. And most guys on the paintball field think you’re an idiot. Cant sprint without your arm balance.

Actually it wasn’t sprint IMO… it was loadouts and armor abilities in general not to mention they took away the awesome matchmaking and rank structure. Those things killed Halo not the addition of one mechanic.

Most guys on the paintball field aren’t Spartan super soldiers. If you want lore to dictate gameplay be consistent. Why would an economist care what a paint ball player thinks? And no I don’t mean sprint and run at the same time. Sprint and shoot, like 117, 058 and especially 087 in all of the novels … Bc immersion …right.

Yes, it would be impossible to sprint and run at the same time. The two are mutually exclusive. You also can’t sprint and crawl at the same time. lol.
Anyway. Are most guys on the paintball field biologically enhanced super soldiers in powered assault armor? No? If we’re going with “immersion” and “realism” as if either of those are relevant to the negative impacts it has on Halo, the sprint mechanic still doesn’t hold up. There is no reason Spartans wouldn’t be able to move at optimal speed while keeping their weapon ready, as they did in the books. They aren’t random chumps playing paintball. They are the pinnacle of human augmentation in the 26th century.

Nope, there are a lot of people in the gaming community that don’t want sprint. I’d argue that if H6 didn’t have sprint and the game was designed well, most people wouldn’t mind that it was gone.

These were all problems, yes. And? People have been talking about the widespread negative impacts of Sprint since Reach. The problems with loadouts and “Spartan Abilities” were blatantly obvious, but sprint has a more fundamental impact on the entire game. Are you new to this conversation or do you just pay no attention before telling everyone what your brilliant theory happens to be?
Sprint is hear to stay and I’m glad because I like the gamespeed. Although I’d love to see a classic playlist with no sprint or armour abilities on remakes of old maps

Why is sprint good for the game? Can you not even think of an answer?
