I agree with your point, but I think it would be a combination of players lack of care and poor game design. It’s understandable in other Halo games when you skipped dialogue because you were speed running. to play the game at the pace the developers put into the game and be able to skip the dialogue by just playing the game is poor game design.

Each Call of Duty is actually on a 3-year development cycle. Treyarch, InfiniteWard, and Sledgehammer each get 3 years to develop their games.

CoD is still more popular than Halo and if the Xbone popularity list suggests anything, it’s that more people care about BF right now than Halo. Halo’s not in the same league as other shooters anymore. In fact, the top 10 consists of 4 FPS’ and none of them are Halo.
Perhaps if Halo were to differentiate itself again, it would get peoples attention. Doing the same as other games “just because” isn’t doing Halo much good.

Halo is also a shooter that is only on one platform, and the platform is the most undersold platform of the generation. So it makes sense that a shooter that is limited to one platform would preform poorly.
