Most good reach players spammed like crazy. I played with tons of onyx 1% kids and a suprisingly high amount of them would fire as fast as possible in most situations.

No. Halo 6 needs to scrap everything and start over from Halo 3. We need a new and better Halo 4
I think there are more important things to take care of. Such as the uninspired neon artstyle and bland world design.

Man, I hated bloom, it did make me pace my shots. But hated how it was on Rifles. I was fine on the Magnum or the Automatic weapons, but not on the DMR.

No it wouldn’t. Halo 1-3 played like this and even some game modes in reach and they were fine. It keeps the pacing going without the stupid sprint around the map for seconds at a time looking for someone.
Also Spartan charge begs to differ with you with its magnetism and ability to set people up for near instant death after getting hit by it.

I never said it did I? I just said it discouraged spamming which Halo 5 embraces with headshot capable autos with way too tight spread. Were it up to me I’d go back to mostly ballistic weapons a la Halo 3 with increased movement speed. That requires you to actually aim.

Which is stupid because anyone with good aim will still pick you off because of the lack of cover. In Halo 2 and 3 you fired while moving to keep yourself from getting killed which was more engaging and fun in my opinion. Now it’s sprint to cover and hope to not die before you get there since you can’t do anything else.

Even post patch it was extremely strong due to the longer red reticule range which meant it got more aim assist and magnetism over a greater distance. Had it not been for Halo 4 not having descope when shot the DMR probably still would have been better even at mid range.

No it’s true. Spamming was hardly ever consistent it would randomly RNGesus grace you with a headshot, letting you win a fight you shouldn’t have won. So, while annoying, it wasn’t really super viable. It was just the random kill rewards that no one liked.

Regardless the point was originally made to comment on how Halo Reach and 4 played differently. Also in Reach by the time you got that close you’d probably be getting melee’d more than anything.

I liked to pace my shots as well. I knew a lot of really good reach players that spammed like crazy though. It was aggrevating to play against them.
