It has a lot but is down dead. If we don’t post in like couple months it will get locked if someone does.
Increasing the base movement speed will do nothing but cause havoc. Literally anyone could just run around with any weapon without any repercussions and it would just break the game. I’d say sprint would be good if they could fix a few things such as adding a sprint meter to prevent people from just running away for literally 3 minutes. Other than that, sprint is fine the way it is, it works well in the game but it’s not too powerful to the point where you can overly abuse it.

So we make the sprint limited and keep halo 5 sprint? That would be fine since it would not affect me.

False. You’ve just been trained to think that limited movement is balance without actually knowing why certain games limit movement.

Certain games? I’m just talking about Halo. Idc why other games limit movement, I’m just saying that the main reason no one has liked sprint in Halo is because it could be used whenever and however the user wishes to use it. Of course in certain games this wouldn’t suffice because sprint isn’t fast and the players have low kill times. Halo is fine with sprint, but it could be 10x better if sprint was limited so that it could have that classic feel mixed with the modern feel.

That’s not the main reason.
Why do you think always being able to run and shoot is a bad thing?

That’s not the reason at all.
I can live without sprint, but we need a slightly increased movement speed (from %100 to %125). I also wouldn’t mind removing sprint, but I really don’t want to live without clamber.

> I’d love a classic playlist but it’d have to be done right. Playing devil’s advocate I just feel like if 343i makes it they’d be back tracking their vision for the franchise. This maybe why a playlist hasn’t sprung up. There might also be a group of people within 343i who want sprint to be removed and the population of a playlist with no sprint might give them an edge in an argument against the heads who think sprint should stay.
>
> Idk I’m just throwing some possibilities.
I was thinking game modes like ctf, slayer, and assault, but with no sprint. So it would kind of be like team arena with classic game modes and no sprint.

On that note Halo 4 had terrible weapon balancing which made it way too easy to throw a DMR and OSK boltshot together with promethean vision and camp every corner. Halo 4 vehicles were useless due to being able to spawn with plasma pistols and plasma nades that 2-3 shotted every vehicle. Vehicles were at least survivable in Reach. Post patch Halo 4 was more similar to Reach I will say, but overall the way they were played is completely different. You couldn’t spam in Reach without bloom. Halo 4 made it a joke as if the bloom on H4’s DMR would have done anything.

Bloom Dosent make the game more skilled, it makes your aim on precision weapons have a randomized spread

Me too for a multitude of reasons already discussed in the now infamous sprint debate threads, dating back to Halo 4. From what I’ve always seen, there always seem to be more pro sprint people out there, but it would be nice to have at least one playlist without sprint as a nod to older Halo games…

Bloom however does force you to pace your shots. Spamming the trigger was not a viable option. The H4 DMR was insanely easy to use, pre 4sk BR patch it was the go to weapon for this very reason. Again completely different games with completely different mechanics.

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!
> Thoughts? :3
I like sprint, although Spartan charge and ground pound gotta go. Wish you could accompany sprint with armor lock or just any armor ability in future Halos.

Along with more closed off maps, it’s like no map in halo 5 has decent cover

Well the game is designed to have sprint involved.
