H4s multiplayer wasn’t much different than Reaches, the biggest difference was the art style. The drop off can mostly be chalked up to the fact that Bungie didn’t make 4.

^Somebody believes this?

Now theses post not really on sprint but other issues people think they see what’s wrong with 343.

Did you play Reach? Vastly different implementation of AA’s versus loadouts and ordinance drops. The initial sales in 4 are similar to reach, the population drop off are indicative that something in the gameplay was lacking.

Sprinting, thrusting and sliding from cover to cover gives you a greater ability to avoid getting sniped in the run-up to a base. It also places more onus on the skill of the player who got sniped; they got sniped because they had a large set of abilities that could help them avoid that outcome and yet they still failed.

A scaled-down map with the same amount of stuff going on would make it difficult for a Scorpion or a Wraith to be truly effective. How well do you think you’d do in a Scorpion on Escape from A.R.C. if the central zone was half the size it currently was?

This and no sprint and it worked really well. BTB Valhalla and Sandtrap heavies is some of the most fun I’ve had in a game. Vehicles get spawn killed all the time in war zone anyway or countered almost immediately by another req be it a vehicle or ordinance weapon.

That being said I am pretty firm in the belief that the game should be balanced around the arena modes and not the mode that was supposed to be social and has no sense of balance.

No. No. No. No. No. Reach and 4 are very different.

4 had fully customizable loadouts, Reach didn’t, Halo 4 had completely broken Armor Abilities, Reach had some bad ones, but nowhere near promethean vision, ridiculous H4 invis etc. as well as perks. On that note Halo 4 had terrible weapon balancing which made it way too easy to throw a DMR and OSK boltshot together with promethean vision and camp every corner. Halo 4 vehicles were useless due to being able to spawn with plasma pistols and plasma nades that 2-3 shotted every vehicle. Vehicles were at least survivable in Reach. Post patch Halo 4 was more similar to Reach I will say, but overall the way they were played is completely different. You couldn’t spam in Reach without bloom. Halo 4 made it a joke as if the bloom on H4’s DMR would have done anything.

Also, Halo 4’s ridiculous amounts of magnetism combined with lack of bloom made the DMR so pitifully easy to use it lacked any skill at all.

They were not even close to the same. Customizable loadouts, perks, ordinance, and the removal of map control all made Halo 4 a very frustrating game to play. Reach didn’t have those.

Farming would be nowhere as bad without sprint. They stretched the warzone maps out to accommodate sprint and now because of it you have these massive, open areas that people have to traverse in order to kill the people that are pegging them off from a mile away.

Yes your right Halo isnt as it was… its become better more fast paced. Yes it seems OP but its 2016. We have got to stick with the change. As halo fans we can’t be divided.

> Yes your right Halo isnt as it was… its become better more fast paced. Yes it seems OP but its 2016. We have got to stick with the change. As halo fans we can’t be divided.

thats not necessarily true…moving faster doesnt actually mean the flow of the game is faster…the argument for “modern mechanics” isnt by itself a good argument…however with sprint, slide and clamber, it makes atleast some sense…nothing about “modern mechanics” says you need thruster pack, spartan charge, or ground pound…those are just gimmicks

people are always going to disagree about things…no matter what…i mean think about it…lets just say someone said flat out…dont be divided on stuff…well who has to change their mind to make that happen…one person likes armor abilities…the other doesnt…divided…so who changes their mind? its my opinion that the way to solve this or at the very least really understand what people truly want…you need to start from scratch…and the way to do that is simplicity…if people dont like something about that simplicity…voice it…ok this or that needs to change…fresh canvas

The reason I don’t like sprint is the punishment of sprinting. If you are going to punish people who are sprinting, just remove it.

They do so much to try to balance something to pleas people who think it’s unbalanced, why not just remove it entirely? You spend less time balancing and more time on other things.

Lifespans for Mantises would plummet even farther. Calling in a high-cost heavy vehicle REQ would be even greater a risk than it already is to the point where people would rather use their power weapons over and over again than have their Scorpion get stuck on a rock and get blasted to hell.

As much as I dislike sprint, this is incorrect. Warzone alone is perfect for farming regardless of sprint, then toss in Achilles to get ppl to form companies and such is more incentive. In short, because of how Warzone is designed, it makes for better stat padding then any other game type whether sprint is in the game or not.

How has it become faster paced? Everything about sprint slows the pace of gameplay…

There’s only a handful of people like yourself whining about sprint. Because I’m nice I’ll offer you some cheese to go with your whine.

Again claiming someone is whining due to their advocating for different game mechanics is not an argument, it just comes across as childish.

True but halo reach had its own flaws that I would say lingered into its late post launch longer than Halo 4 which 343i tried to legecyfi. Reach was the first Halo to have sprint and it’s because of its popularity in that game that we have it now. Reach also had… ‘Shiver’ armor lock…ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

that’s the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard.

the game specifaclly punishes the heck out of you for not sprinting or not buying reqs

en español?

If you want sprint gone then go back to playing halos 1-3 and halo wars
