The sprint discussion thread

> Why are so many people mad about sprint? It’s just one small aspect of the game! I have no idea how this could be a bad thing.

  • Because halo vets who like the way the old games played
  • Because sprint is not necessary and arguably a drag on all tanks
  • Because we have not even a single play list or game that works and also has no sprint
You should probably read a bit more of the forum. It has thought out arguments on why sprint should go.

You could probably learn by reading more posts on the forum than mine.

I have since this been posted.

I like sprint but prefer it limited like Halo Reach’s and passive like what we have now.

I’ve been a fan since day 1 of CE and I enjoy sprint. Adding new mechanics keeps games going and non ending up dying out like most Nintendo games

yeah I did made post about this man remembering that some of the vets and old players like sprint.

There are more important issues in h5 than sprint. The lack of playlists, the campaign, and the use of req points are issues that have more weight individuality than sprint.

It depends on who you ask. For me, there is no greater problem in Halo than sprint. I understand that the lack of playlists in Halo 5 and in MCC is a problem. But that problem pales in comparison to what sprint has done to the gameplay.

You say that like slower movement is a bad thing.

Considering none of those things effect every match you play, no they aren’t.

If an “up to date” poll changes anything it’s only because so many anti-sprinters have left (people tend to do that when the devs don’t remove bad game changing mechanics).

The smaller the communtiy gets (as it’s now the smallest it’s ever been since before Halo 3) the more people within it that will like sprint because they’ll soon be the only ones left playing the game. Like I said, keeping a game changing mechanic that people don’t like will push them away. Players having been pushed away doesn’t exactly support your claim of pro-sprinters being the majority.

I think of BTB, which was supposed to be replaced by warzone until fans yelled at them to put it in the game. I think of firefight, which 343 specifically stated that if people wanted a PvE warzone enough, they’d put it in. I think of them removing ordnance and loadouts, which the community said made it feel too much like CoD. No they don’t make every single decision requested by the community, but community feedback is where a ton of their decisions come from.

My guess is battlefield. After all, they are trying to escape the futuristic games, and the literal opposite of that is battlefield 1.

Sprint is the way halo is meant to be.

For many, it is a bad thing.

Arc Trooper 48, everyone has their own views, if we could turn of sprint and move a bit faster when walking.

People aren’t patient any more to play the game look around.

And changing the basic form of the game drives away many of the original fans too.

You’re the exception.

Comment #2016 :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d also rather keep sprint

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!

Very constructive. Way to represent the mature side of the community. See a post you dislike and bump it with an insult to keep it current.
Nice!
