The SPNKr appears to be a new weapon type.

From the looks of things the coveted SPNKr rocket launcher is actually a new weapon type as opposed to just being a reskin of the current rocket launcher. They could have easily just made the thing a high-level REQ card variant for the new rocket launcher but there are four variants of the SPNKr. Two Rare, one Ultra Rare and one Legendary variant, so odds are the base SPNKR without the frills will be available in Forge mode. I think this is further evidenced by the trailers showing the SPNKr on the new forge BTB maps.

So that’s something to celebrate about right? If they’re going to add an entirely new weapon “type” to the game that means they can add others in like Brute weapons or other guns missing from Halo 5’s arsenal.

Wasn’t it confirmed to be in Forge with the footage from the Burial Mounds remake?

I don’t think it was officially confirmed aside from the assumptions we all made but yeah, I’d say its confirmed.

SPNKrs all well and good, but Falcon/Hornets is what the world needs

Yay! The Halo rocket launcher will indeed be present and usable within more than just one game mode. Yay! Let’s celebrate! They’re listening! Positivity! Ignoring how -Yoinked!- up celebrating this is FTW!

Sorry, but something “Halo” being wedged into a Halo game…late…is evidence of a serious problem. Pardon my sarcasm, but I hardly find this something worthy of celebration.

I for one think the current rocket launcher is GARBAGE. You can’t tell the difference from any other gun when it’s lying on the floor and at least with the spnkr you could see the chunky thing from a mile away. I also get a wierd delay upon firing it usually, so that often i get killed cos the f****** rocket JUST DOESN’T COME OUT OF THE TUBE!!
so hopefully the spnkr will get added into arena too cos the curret rocks SUCK

Hmm, I never even thought of it that way. Lets just hope it works out like this.

Yes

Well you have to figure. The M57 rocket launcher is a 50mm rocket. The M41 Rocket we all know and love is 104mm rocket. Of course it would be in its own league.

Why was it even removed in the first place…? They ditch an original design for the most generic green tube bazooka available. I try to be nice, but 343i have to be idiots to consciously ditch an iconic weapon for that.

But I’m assuming it’s going to be in forge because it is its own weapon. I’m also banking on Prophet’s Bane (Arbiter’s energy sword) being in Forge, since it was in the Halo 5 beta then disappeared from the game.

There’s no Gravity Hammer in the game yet, so they’ll have to add at least that

Because be realistic. The SPNKer is very unrealistic. 104mm rockets. In order to reload, you have to replace the tubes. Both tubes. It is large, clunky and unrealistic.

So the UNSC adapted the lighter, cheaper, simpler 50mm rocket where you have to only replace the magazine.

Honestly being former Military myself. I always thought the Original rocket as stupid. Something only a Spartan can truly use. The thing would be unwieldy and to heavy for the Light infantry combat you always found the UNSC Marines in the games. It would only be useful for base defense and Mechanized combat.

The new rocket makes perfect sense. For it is far lighting and the spare rounds lighter. A light infantry squad will be able to actually carry it into combat and not be slowed down

When I want an extreme amount of logic in my videogames I’ll go play America’s Army. Halo has aliens, plasma weaponry, Scarabs, vehicles that float, energy swords, Spartan lasers, and Spartans ffs. I can’t say I’m looking for logic in my weapon design, or a lot of logic in a sci-fi game about an invincible green suit decimating alien armies.

While i agree, they’ll only turn that one around on you. Trust me.
