In my quest to finish all UNSC weapons, I’ve come to a titanium reinforced wall with the Spartan Laser. Seriously, like what the -Yoink- did they do to it, and WHY?! Not only does it take longer to charge (up from 5 sec at 6 sec) AND have less shots (down from 5 to 4) you have to hit the opponent with the ENTIRETY of the laser beam to even score a kill. No more sweeping it on multiple opponents, you probably wouldn’t even pop their shields. On top of that, its an uncommon weapon to acquire. How am I supposed to get over 1000 kills with this thing, and why was it even nerfed in the first place?
You only need 365 kills to get the master level and that is reasonable.
I think it is to common on BTB-maps. It is so annoying on Ragnarok and I would love if the weapon just disappeared. To powerful on the Banshee.
Play Dominion. It comes up all the time in there. I just got a mongoose destroyer kill with it in there tonight 
And, as a tip, Ragnarok is exceptional to get kills with the laser. Just jump in the Ghost and go fast as hell to “Top Middle” where the laser comes up a few seconds after the start of the game. Preferably, use camo because often the sniper in the base is just sitting and waiting for the other team to catch it. Be quick and go and hide somewhere, and then there is a smorgasbord with vehicles to shot down.
One time I got and Overkill when I shot down the Mantis, and the Warthog and Banshee also got destroyed in the explosion, see my screenshot (I am standing on the top hill, just barely visible):
