So recently I’ve seen people posting Spartan Laser stats and using that to justify that it needs buffed because it hits and doesn’t kill.
But what many of you are failing to understand is that each shot (25% charge) actually consists of many “shots”. I haven’t been able to determine the actual number each shot fires and it may vary depending on the variant of laser, bu I put the number of shots fired with each laser blast at upwards of 25 per.
As for people looking at their stats and thinking it sucks because their # of hit are much higher than their number of kills; the laser doesn’t fire a single shot like the sniper rifle, it is many shots over a brief duration(imagine the sentinel beam, but faster). Which is why you can wing people with the spartan laser and not kill them. I wish 343 would mention something regarding this because I know there are some slow kids out there that will try to disagree, but the numbers don’t lie. I have over 10,000 shots fired, 2000+ shots landed, and 200+ kills… Now there’s no way in hell that I used all the charge from 1250-2500 lasers… just think about that.
The first time I ever looked at my stats I figured this out. It was pretty evident I hadn’t fired the laser that many times. I think most people really don’t have a grasp on the value of numbers. They’ll play a game for a couple months and not think it’s odd that their record says they’ve fired a couple thousand laser shots. Do you know how long that would take? of course one firing registers as more than one ‘shot’. I have about 350 myself and I almost never use the damn thing!
What I’m getting at is you’re right. And some people are kinda dumb.
Hmmmm, i didnt know that. Has it allways done that? Is that why the laser can go through several people, because more shots are behind the one that is making impact?

I think thats the game being buggy. I have had that hapen to me a more than a few times in every game that has theweapon. Sometimes a spot in shot dose nothing, for no reason.
I’ve utterly DESTROYED wraiths and scorpions with it. At first I though it was weaker than past spartan lasers, but it’s a beast if you keep the laser on the target.
I’ve started pulling them out when it’s a heavily vehicle focused game so I can snipe from an armory or garage with a BR then swap to the laser for vehicles when defending. It’s proven to be a very effective strategy so far.

It was always a beam weapon to the best of my knowledge, some people think its a single beam with all the damage front loaded into the first nanosecond on target. It’s multiple beams that each do a portion of the total damage. Go into forge and spawn one, and sweep the laser as you fire at a wall or something, it will have multiple impact points instead of a slice like a real laser would do.

Really. I always thought it was like an anti-vehicle sniper. Huh you learn something new everyday.

And it doesn’t do ANYTHING? Literally impossible. Maybe you’re shooting at an oni vehicle, but if you hit anything with a full laser it’s doing serious damage no matter what.

Yeah, a while back I had this huge argument with this idiot who was whining about the Splaser being too weak, and when I looked at his video evidence it was clear that he simply didn’t know how to use it, he almost always missed the target either completely or partially. Certain areas on the vehicles are also more susceptible to the beam but its kind of weird. Once on Recurve I had the Splaser and all I could see was the barrel of the Gauss Hog in its spawn point, anyway someone got in the gunner position and was shooting, and I hit the barrel with the beam and blew it up, couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the kill.
Thank you I have the same thing in mind In my clan I am the Spartan laser and it needs a buff more than ever. Send me a message if you want to talk this over some other time.

It does not need a buff in any way… the vehicles are upgraded and there are upgraded lasers to match… there needs to be some counterplay
