I agree with you. Its highly annoying. But its neither game breaking or to much of an issue. keep in mind its not even in beta yet, so it could change. We do have to make a voice on the matter though.
Perhaps they could make it so you could turn these options off, or at the very least just have text appear. I do believe having these is “dumbing” down halo to an extent, but its hardly its most pressing issue.

I’ll have to reserve my judgement until the Beta, but it’s something that’s been a concern.
Could you imagine having to listen to it during a Customs Game? It would get really old, really fast.
I would have absolutely no issue with it if I have an option to Enable/Disable it.
Definitely a must toggle for Custom because of Machinima production. On matchmaking, can’t say it will not be an asset, but that’s probably because I am too tied down to replace my mic.
Do remember that a lot of people thought the points and medal name popups in Halo 4 would be an extreme issue, but after a few matches I stopped noticing them more than peripherally on occasion. I do, however (bearing in mind I also was one that complained about the popup text for H4) think it should at least be noted as a possible thing to adjust.
EDIT: This could all be alleviated with three options added for the Spartan VO: Always on, Always off, Auto-Off (Mic Detect)
It actually doesn’t bother me since I usually play Halo all by myself with no one to talk with so this might make the game more fun but I do think that there should be an option to turn it off for those that don’t like it.
Now like most people are saying a toggle is a must, however i wish there was a slider for how much they should talk. For instance they give some information that i would like to know when playing solo, such as what weapon they pick up and what weapons they see the enemy holding, but they talk WAY to much. “tossing a grenade” “reloading” “picking my nose” like holy -Yoink- i don’t give a -Yoink- give me the information i care about without all the -Yoink-.
its even more annoying when no one talks so I like the new feature you should just be able to turn it off if you don’t like it, I will keep how ever as I see it being very useful

I completely agree. When playing alone, spartan callouts are great so you know what’s going on around the map, but while playing with a party, it may become distracting and annoying. A toggling option would be great!

Many people will disagree with you that memorization is a good indicator of skill. I know Greenskull is with me on this argument.
Should be reduced to a 30-15 second timer though so if you are too far away, the only thing you can do is to prepare necessarily for the probably increased firepower aganist you.
