Ground pound. The uses of it in match making multiplayer are few. It is used to deliver death from above in cool fashion, in combination with clamber to make jumps, and to just simply get to lower ground in a quick manner.
In custom games, ground pound has ton of potential uses in unique custom modes. Already, we have seen use of ground pound in game modes such as Ground Pound arena, Platform Panic, and Bobbing for Apples. With the addition of breakable walls and floors to forge, ground pound’s potential in custom games is really high, in my opinion.
Enhanced movement abilities in a game as unique as Halo 5 where players can create maps and game modes around a certain ability in addition to existing game modes can attribute to its success.

Ground pound and spartan charge just seem way to gimmicky to me
To me losing all the other abilities and equipment isn’t worth having Spartan charge and ground pound. I agree they are gimmicky. Surely it would of been possible to have the other abilities and equipment where they fit in and as long as it’s not over powered.
The other issue is that if you are playing on a harder difficulty the abilities are completely worthless.
I my self would prefer I could turn Spartan charge off because I never want to use it I would rather just melee.
The Ground Pound is so rad. Outside of piledriving someone into a pancake finish, it’s great for getting around the map or dodging enemy fire while midair.
Maybe if the ground pound hitting a vehicle automatically starts a highjack maneuver?
I reckon the ground pound is just too long to charge and won’t always kill the opponent. You’re incredibly exposed and its one of those risk reward things, you are taking a lot of risk when you could just BR him from on high.
Same with Spartan Charge. It can be very good. But you’re essentially just a kamikaze hoping to knock off somebodies shields and either get that headshot or spray him. Plus you are exposed to him meleeing you. Again, most players prefer to hold back and use their pistols or BR. Risk/reward.
I definitely don’t want to seem them add more powerful abilities like Spartan Lock, Barrier or Promethean vision.

Spartan charge is pure -Yoink- that brings no risk though. Ground pound at least brings the risk of you missing the shot, loosing the high ground, and dying because of it.

Yeah Spartan charge sucks.
depending on the button layout on the controller it can be a pain to use, like i have meele on b so i have to hold b and fishhook the controller to aim the pound , now this is the only move i need to hold the controller like that meaning i never use it. pluss its extremly situational to find a use for when its bether then just shooting at them .
well it is sure a lot less annoying than shoulder charge
Ground pound is also useful for movement across maps through its stabilization

I agree the uses in noraml MP are terrible however when looking at custom games this movement give the map designers a wider range of options
It’s mostly unused because if someone is aware that you’re doing it they thrust out of the radius before you even land. It also leaves you vulnerable for a second after landing. It’s just something to do as area denial or a surprise attack.
It’s also usually a bad idea to give up the high ground on a lot of maps for one kill.

Can you please elaborate what you mean by “gimmicky”

How many other games are doing it? Now while not as destructive as fists of havoc it is similar, and black ops 3 has a similar move…shoulder charge was also in destiny…it seems like they’re catering again to other fan bases to draw in other games players. Were these mechanics really needed to keep the game relevant?
Ground pound is not often that use due to situation almost never involving one guy having high ground over the other or the target is moving way too fast to be in the radius.

Theres plenty of times where be are high above the other players but people just forget about it.
Spartan charges really should be nerfed into assassinations or something. Ground pounds seem fair and risky.

So u want them to bring in something from halo 4 that people absolutely hated…
Ground pound wasn’t in Halo 4? Not sure what you mean.
In some ways, Ground Pound is the new BXR…
