The Sound OutPut/Volume Is Lower Than Halo 4, WHY?

This is a serious problem with Xbox One games, Forza 5 and 6 have a significantly lower sound output compared to Forza 4, the game itself just isn’t as loud. I have noticed this with Halo 5, the gun sound and game volume just doesn’t sound as high compared to Halo 4, does anyone notice this?

Just increase the volume settings.

Look down at your TV remoten Do you see the volume buttons on it? Good. Use them.

I believe Halo 5 there’s, for the first time ever, a sound mixer. You can independently control the volume of guns, speech, music, etc.

Now that is awesome. Those kind of settings have been a long time coming for Console games. I hope this becomes a trend.

It’s been shown off by a lot people, back when 343 had an event for them to play, I can confirm this, but I can’t find a link at the moment.

It doesn’t matter, the game itself has a certain encoded sound and this is very noticeable if you compare Forza 4 and Forza 6, Forza 4 sounds so much louder if you have both Forza 4 and Forza 6 and the same volume level. I was hoping this would not be a issue for Halo 5 but if you can actually control different sound effects volume then that is good, that is what Forza 6 needs.

Has anyone noticed this yet? I am annoyed that no one doesn’t. The gun sounds and the rest of the game volume itself just doesn’t sound as loud. When you get Halo 5 do a comparison, hook up your 360 with Halo 4 and play Halo 5 at the same time and compare the sound on the same volume, Halo 4 will sound a lot louder. Something is wrong with Xbox Ones sound output, with Forza 4 it is a lot louder than Forza 5 and 6 on the same volume.

What you’re probably hearing is more dynamic range, aka more range between the quietest & loudest sounds, which you’re perceiving as less overall volume.

Can anyone confirm that Halo 5 really has different volume controllers?

Can someone who has the game confirm this please?

Probably trolling.

I can tell you it doesn’t make a difference when it comes to Halo/FPS. But for racing games like Forza and NFS, it will matter because you want to hear that ever so -Yoink!- growl of your car.

Also he isn’t trolling, I saw it in a YouTube LiveStream upload. Ill find the link and tell you what time to fast forward to

True. I think they added some type of sound mixer into the game.

I could have sworn Halo 3 had in-game volume settings?
I do remember being disappointed Halo 4 didn’t.

If this is the case then that is awesome.
