I loved Halo ever since the first game was released on the first xbox and I loved the TRUE creators of Halo, Bungie! In my oppinion Bungie was also the soul of Halo and that is why I believe is the reason behind the low populated servers when 343 Industries took over. Ever since Bungie shared the news that they were quitting microsoft, Halo started to feel like it was dying. If you think about it, Halo 1-3 felt so alive and there were hardly anyone complaining compared to the flamers we have today, but when Halo Reach was released there were more and more people complaining and it got even worse when 343 Industries took control of the servers.
Halo 4 is called a ghost game, not because it is full of ghost but because of the low populated servers compared to when it was launched. Remember all of these are simply my personal oppinions, but I would love the hear what the rest of you think about this? Do you also think that the very soul of Halo died when Bungie handed over Halo to 343 industries and that it may be one of the reasons why so many have given up on the game?

Reach never got better for me. So that would make your logic somewhat flawed.

I love it. People are leaving matchmaking because it is evolving, like the rest of online gaming. They do need to balance it better, for sure. That will happen. I believe in 343i. Hell, even a TV show is coming out finally. Halo 5 and 6 WILL be epic and amazing. Watch.

What evidence do you have to support that belief? I haven’t seen anything good come from 343 so far. Not in Reach, not in Halo 4.

This. Bungle forums and Halo waypoint forums always complain about the current Halo and say the previous was better.
If you read what I wrote you will see that I meant this as one of the reasons of the low populated servers and of course have people been flaming and crying on the forums of weapons being unbalanced and that they get killed by one specific weapon or vehicle over and over because they do not learn from their misstakes but it has never been this bad. The question stands as; what has happened to the soul of Halo?
As of right now, the soul of Halo exists in the competitive community. With the upcoming weapon tuning, 343 didn’t just make what they thought was good and then throw it out to us, they asked several pro players and well-known, trusted community members to go there and test out the weapon tuning. Not only did they do that, but they made changes to the tuning based on what these trusted players said (example: the LR zoomed fire speed was quickened originally by a decent amount, but became too overpowered and they lowered it from the increased rate a little bit. Still faster, but not as fast). The competitive community has several thousand members that watch streams and do what they can to keep Halo alive until Halo 5 comes.
Bottom line, the soul of Halo was never the studio that created it, be it Bungie or 343. It’s the player that is the soul of the game, and 343 is doing what they can to please the gamer and bring Halo back.

You think complaining about sequels is exclusive to Halo fans, that’s cute.
Yes, our beloved Halo’s soul has departed with Bungie. Maybe if we all get together, hold hands and pray it’s soul will return to it’s lifeless corpse. Once it’s soul returns the game will instantly get better (completely neglecting the current complaints) and the population will return. It’s not the imbalances that make this game bad you guys! It’s that halo’s soul is freakin’ gone bro!

I Give the Halo 5, and 6 a chance, it’s just that I’m not very happy with xbox one. The only reason I’m would really get an xbox one is for Halo 5 and six.
People like you need to accept that Bungie has moved on, and so should you. You’re never going to enjoy Halo again unless accept this and just take a look at the great game 343 has made.
I love the way the HALO story is going. I’m excited for XBOX ONE, looks AWESOME with all the features and how smooth running it looks to perform (fingers crossed on that) but I do agree they messed up matchmaking, at least they have real pro gamers attempting to fix it.
No, Bungie is not the soul of halo, they just did a good job of putting it into the gameplay. 343 is capable of doing the same, they just went down the wrong path. It isn’t the easiest thing to nail in the current fps market
