Complaint one - DMR: People claim the DMR is overpowered this is false, the other weapons just aren’t consist and the DMR shows this when a DMR beats a saw at mid range.
Complaint two - Call of Halo: People seem to think that 343 is making their game to be more like Modern Warfare like gears of war judgement and from what i hear even black ops 2 (Black ops fans tend to hate Modern Warfare more than everyone), but this half false. They are changing the game, but not to be more like call of duty.
Complaint three - Balance issues: 343 thought to far ahead when creating this game (must have been a lot of pressure) I can tell they wanted the game to be perfect. So instead of making every weapon unique and op and then quickly nerfing them according to exploits (boltshot reload glitch) and power, they overbalanced most of the weapons stripping them of their uniqueness (The BR) power (scattershot). Which is why they kept claiming that everything was balanced because all they did was balance balance balance. Then you wind up with weapons such as the DMR that remains consistent while others weapons to prove to be inconsistent due to balance changes.
C4-CSR: Skill rank is needed now more than ever with how easy it is to rank up. I would like to the military system from back in Halo 3 so even if they have a lot of xp they can’t rank up with out the skill.
C5-playstyles: the loadout options given determine your playstyle their not suited for your playstyle like adverstised, instead the encourage certain styles like precision weapon + resupply and explosives or AR+Boltshot+Dexterity. The game basically says "Yeah you can fun doing that but everyone is going to be doing better than you because they use the ‘right’ loadouts.
Solution one: The DMR shouldn’t get nerfed. If you nerf the DMR because of it’s mid range consitency you harm it’s long range effectiveness which is where the gun is suppose to be at it’s prime. Instead of nerfing the DMR making the other weapons more consitent at their ranges.
What to change:
Reduce the RoF of the BR and make it a 4 shot weapon. This is a nostalgic bonus and makes the BR unique rather than the DMR’s less attractive cousin. As for the carbine give it the long range reticle that it had in June. With the current mid range reticle you’ll a miss a mid-range shot or two simply because the reticle is to large which is why the BR and DMR are dominating the field and the carbine is somewhere in the corner. Here is how the the KILL times should be
Mid Range: LRZ > Carbine > BR > DMR > LR
Long Range: LRZ > Carbine > DMR > BR > LR
The LR is beast scoped, garbage unscoped. It’s low rate of fire (while scoped) allows people to avoid it’s kill shot.
The Carbine essentially would be the best weapon with the long ranged reticle but miss a shot and your gonna lose the rifle battle (which is why damage should remain the same)a smaller reticle means a you have to be more accurate with the weapon.
The BR’s recoil will keep it from effectively competing with the DMR at long ranges. Accurate shots plus strafe can allow BR players to move in on carbine players.
Solution two: Halo used to Team Based Strategy Game. Players fought over territory for power weapons and used map angles and team work to control the map and lock down their opponents. 343 is shooting towards a Tactical shooter. Mordern warfare can’t truly be called (though it claims to be one) Tactical, in tactical games you need a plethora of options (weapons equipment etc.) MW falls short because all your options are essentially there aren’t any real combos or anything unique about most of their options. 343 did mess up by making the BR and DMR so similar, but they did supply us with options Tactical/Support packages plus more weapons and AAs.
Simply bring back Team slayer (no ordinance or packages) it’s debatable about whether or not you should be able to pick your primary/secondary. Because I would never pick up a Storm rifle if I spawn with an AR., but have DEDICATED WEAPON SPAWNS ON ALL NON-INFINITY PLAYLIST. The drops can remain random in infinity slayer though i would like some variety… or just some beam rifles to be already on the map. Ordinance kind of ruins objective game types so it should remain a Infinity exclusive. 343, let Infinity Slayer be your Tactical shooter (which i do enjoy) and allow everything else remain what it was Halo to unique of game and it’s fans are ready for it to die just yet.
Solution 3: Increase the scattershot’s accuracy and make it so the richochet kills are plausible and easily executed so skilled player can either A. smoke a player of a hiding spot or B. kill them without getting their hands dirty.
The needler needs better tracking and then moving left or right becomes untouchable.
The railgun needs a zoom the thing goes across the map so why limit it’s visual range. Also needs more vehicle damage, it’s VD is equal to the plasma grenade or at least blow them off track because right not it’s barely even a paper cut for the skill needed to hit the vehicles.
The concussion rifle it terrible at one kill per clip and the fact that hitting a target in the body with it 3 consecutive time is rare its need a damage boost more ammunition (per clip) or something, It’s suppose to be a POWER weapon.
Plasma pistol needs more range so you can SAFELY cripple vehicles rather risk your life getting in close to death machines.
S4: 343 made it to easy to level up which besides something to show or efforts, is another reason for skill rank. Make a Ranked playlist and a social playlist, social players won’t have to worry about skill rank or K/D. Also packages and AA are not suited to players play style as much as it should.
S5: There should be several Specializations for every place style Ninjas Rushers Snipers Campers all that jazz. Each specialization should offer 5 loadouts you choose your specializations before a match and your locked into those specific 5 loadouts for the remainder of the game. This offer more loadout choices rather than the same gun 5 times and a slightly different support package. Alter the AAs and packages to suite the specialization. Like ninjas stick, hijack, and assassinate. A good example is mobility, it’s useless for most assignations because you’ll run at the same speed as your opponent until they turn around and try to kill you. An assasination specialization mobility would instead of an infinite run you gain lunge to start your sprint just a little boost to help catch enemies before they. Explosives help me stick anybody for ninjas grenades could be thrown faster or longer, or increase their effectiveness such as sticking (plasma), bouncing (frag) or shield draining for Pulse grenade.
