Alright, so I’m seeing a LOT of criticism about Firefight recently. There are some Youtubers as well talking about the issue with Firefight. Most people say it’s the respawn timers. Others say the bosses are bullet sponges. While both of these are valid arguments, there’s something else about Firefight that I personally believe is the reason Firefight is so hard;
The reinforcements, and the quantity.
Think about it; we can barely even touch the boss in the last few rounds. Why is that? Well, think about how many reinforcements all bosses get. Pretty much all of them have Knights and Elites, and with such a huge quantity of them, it’s practically impossible to touch the boss. If the quantity of reinforcement troops are numbed down, by roughly 50%, you can most likely clear the initial wave of back up, within a minute. Then, accordingly, lessen the amount of support waves after that. Every new wave has 10% fewer troops.
EG. Round 5, backup wave 1:
50% than now
Backup wave 2:
40% than now
etc, until there are only 10% spawning in. This would lessen the difficulty of the later rounds, and overall would be the major step to making Firefight a fair experience for everyone.
In my opinion, of course.
But then again, if the respawn timer wasn’t as long, the reinforcements wouldn’t be such a big problem, and it would more or less balance out. The very point of firefight is that you’re supposed to be severely outnumbered. Reducing the amount of units will take away too much from the challenge, and the fun, at least in my opinion.

I agree OP. When the reinforcement waves are so tough and they just keep respawning it gives the player almost no incentive to even touch the reinforcements, and to just focus on the boss and hope other AI don’t kill you. It does not make for fun gameplay
You also have to factor in the low amount of ammo we have for our weapons. Currently they are balanced around taking out other players, not the amount of enemies we are currently getting thrown at us.

True, true. As I said, anything is fine. Respawn, Boss Sponges, or my idea. Anything to slightly lessen the insane difficulty of Firefight.

Yeah, i forgot. Can I add this to my OP?
Exactly as I stated in my tidbit over in the other thread, cutting down the amount of waves in total that spawn in, rather than overall just cutting their numbers (as you suggest, and there’s nothing wrong with that). Either way, there needs to be a fix on the amount of fodder before we can even touch the boss. I loathe cutting down Crawlers, Soldiers, and Knights to get to a Marshall or Commando, it makes almost no sense to get up to the boss after clearing the 2nd or 3rd wave and having more ov them spawn in and chew you up. I get it, yeah, 343 wanted to give us a challenge, but Soldiers are so damn annoying to kill and Crawlers are too jumpy, not as annoying but harder targets that do the chewing as the Soldier just kills you.
Lessen the amount of fodder per wave or lessen the waves overall, I’d be happy either way. I don’t like losing my seemingly rarer-than-rare Wasps to 6-8 LR shots.

So many good ideas to fix Firefight! This isn’t too bad, either.

In what context? They are super easy, or they suck to deal with?
They tried to do Destiny up in Halo, but it just don’t work here. It don’t really work on Destiny either to be honest
