The solution to the awful Bumper Jumper

Triggers
Left Trigger: Smart Scope
Right Trigger: Fire Weapon

Bumpers
Left Bumper: Jump (Similar to Bumper Jumper)
Right Bumper: Grenade

Joysticks
Left Thumb Stick press down: Crouch/Ground Pound
Right Thumb Stick press down: Melee

Buttons
A: Sprint
Y: Swap weapons
X: Thruster Pack
B: Action/Reload

This retains the jump button on the left bumper making this easily accessible and the main attraction from the Bumper Jumper button layout, it also features easy smart scope access, and easy grenade access. Ghandi hopping is still very easy as it was in Halo’s bumper jumper by clicking in the left stick rapidly, and the melee is similar to Call of Duty. You press the right stick in to melee, this seems to be the best place for it. The sprint button is exactly how it was in Halo 4’s Bumper Jumper, you press A once and continue sprinting for as long as you continue to run without pulling back on the joystick, and X is the thruster pack which is maintained from the Bumper Jumper in Halo 5: Guardians. B, which is reload is the button for reload on Bumper jumper also.

This is a mixture of many different styles, but it’s most similar to Bumper Jumper. There’s a fatal flaw with Bumper Jumper and this layout could easily fix this. (The flaw with bumper jumper is that Smart Scope is on the right stick)

Yes, I agree to 100%! please put the smartscope on the left trigger!

I like bumper jumper just the way it is. I’ve been clicking my stick to zoom for so long I wouldn’t want it any other way.

How you can really fix it is custom button mapping. There’s no excuse why this shouldn’t be in every video game ever.

edit: Now that I think about it I would change a few buttons. Thrust to right bumper, melee to B, and reload to X

That’s how I feel.

Like i said above I would move thrust to right bumper, melee to B, and reload to X

na been using the same BJ since halo 3. and clicking to zoom is just second nature. like the guy above said just give us custom mapping

Haha… bj. But on a serious note, why hasn’t button mapping caught on consoles yet. ):

For reals.

I cant think of any examples off hand but I remember there being a few games back in the n64 days that had it. Should just be standard across the board.

Oh please, why would you want to aim with left trigger?
Halo has never been played with scope on left trigger.
Also, melee on right stick is the worst. I hate it when games have it on right stick…

Agreed.

Any time I played CoD I switched to tactical settings with melee on B and crouch on stick.

Melee just isn’t important enough to me to need super easy access to it.

idk would really fix any problems with a control scheme or just custom to the player that wants something somewhere else

Custom layouts please
