I do not like this post, waypoint likes to award likes as you scroll past, and refuses to let me remove the like.

I actually really dislike this post

As much as people would love to hear it, the game isn’t dead.

Does it have some trouble in terms of player numbers? Sure.

But that’s far from the grave that they wish it to be in.

I’m apart of the iforge community. I have over 100 of them in my friends list. The people that come online has never reached past 20.

I have 100 friends from forge community
Less than 20 are online

gee whiz a community formed around forge is offline when there is no forge?

I literally wrote above why I mentioned them but you know. You didn’t read it

I think calling Infinite a dead game is pretty hyperbolic. It’s in a much healthier state than a ton of other shooters out there. It’s seeming like it’s holding a higher daily player base than MCC was after Season 8 released. Both of those things make the game somewhat successful.

And the fact that there’s a nice consistent population bump each event so far is a good sign for player engagement when content is available.

So that stuff alone is a great sign for the games population. Then you add in the True Achievement report bringing to light that Xbox players specifically are playing Halo as much or more than the likes of Warzone and Fortnite on the platform… imo that shows Infinite is a juggernaut on the Xbox

People keep referring to steam charts because thats the only thing that shows evidence of playerbase for infinite.

Do you have xbox stats for infinite or are you going by what is heresay especially from 343.

343 hasn’t shown population stats in like FOREVER for Halo, they keep hiding it.

Bungie was never afraid to show population numbers in their halo games even Halo Wars 1 has population numbers, unlike Halo Wars 2 that also hides numbers.

So people keep referring to Steam charts because its the only evidence of playerbase that is not kept hidden and from that people make an estimate for xbox’s playerbase.

If 343 showed their numbers of players then we wouldn’t have people referring to steam charts for an estimate of xbox.

These same dedicated forgers we’re on in the last game

These same dedicated forgers

dedicated forgers

forgers

There is no forge. You’re a group of forgers.

Of course you wouldn’t be on

The game is dead.

No, you and your friends who couldn’t hack it at real game design are disappointed your editor hasn’t shipped yet

Let me put this in simple words for those who struggle.

I can get into an arena match in seconds, that is 8 people
I can get into a BtB match in seconds, that is 24 people…the game is not dead

My guy. Just because we are a forge community doesn’t mean we don’t play Halo without forge. In fact we ran a lot of btb in matchmaking which is why I bring them up because they are no longer matchmaking on btb like we use to

The game isn’t literally dead at all, and it likely won’t be until the next Halo.

But the lack of Forge and a Custom Game browser is really holding it back right now. For so many players, those two things are the essence of what makes Halo a social experience. It’s a very large omission that needs to be corrected by 343 as soon as they possibly can for this game to reach its full potential.

You could just call up your friends and play with them like normal people

But since you wont:

Hope they see this post and your gang gets back together

To be fair to to the guy, it’s pretty hard to get a good long game night in with the squad once you’re an adult. Me and my two main buddies all have spouses/partners, and we only get a solid game night in once or twice a month if we’re lucky. And that includes when we try and plan them

I feel that. I havent played Halo w/ the boys since 2016 but now everyone I know has infinite and frankly our problem is too many of us are online. Halo is special to me and the homies and Im sure you feel the same way

I don’t feel the game is dead…

But in my circle only one player plays regularly, a handful does custies with us for about 4 hours a week, and the rest have completely dropped off.

Looking back to Halo 5 and Halo 4, these games had much longer legs for our group.

I wish the best for this game and it’s community.

I still think it funny that Roblox passed it up for a day. Like damn 343 how are you going to let Roblox beat you… that’s just emberrasing. Ots bad enough they can’t be Number one in their own Sandbox but damn Roblox

Anthem would like to know your location.

(I’m sorry I had to, the set up was there)

Serious note though, it’s not a good situation for a game to be sitting in a state where the best hope is that it pulls a no mans sky and gets good years down the road, because there is a real danger it could pull an anthem instead if the devs fail to address the problems that are leading large sections of the community to simply walk away and not come back.

Game is doing well, but I want more :v
Doesn’t change the fact this state of Infinite isn’t the best state it could have been, even with the barebones content.
