Most people’s reaction to this:
> Bam.
was “human skull”.
yet i think it’s forerunner. we know that manipulars have a human-like appearance and now take a look at the “nose” in the picture above.
everyone knows how a human skull’s nose looks like. i bet that’s one the more well-known features, that most people could make a sketch of - and it wouldn’t look like that, with two holes near the eyes and two smaller ones in a vertical line between them…
take a look at skulls previously depicted in halo:

or just google for “pirate flag” and click on images.
Yes I find it funny that people don’t realize how the forerunners are very similar looking to Humans
Forerunner skull was the first thing I thought actually. Maybe these things contain the essence of deceased Forerunners? Kind of like the War Sphinxes. The skull could be a way of “personalizing” them.
Those holes in the nose doesn’t mach a human’s; so I’m betting Forerunner.
It also has a hole in the forehead. Last time I checked I didn’t have a hole in my forehead.
Exactly, Humans and Forerunners physically look the same, they have the same bone structure, and out of all the alien species, they are the closest to each other in DNA and physical appearance. Forerunners just come in different colors to us, e.g Blue, Grey and Black. Some have six fingers, others are very tall (4m), some are the same size as we are. So it would make sense for the Knight’s skull to look humanoid, and if you look closely, the creature has three nasal openings and a different shaped jaw structure, along with it’s eye sockets being a little different.
Since it is an AI, I think it takes the skull shape of what ever enemy it is facing.
Yes. It’s obviously not a human skull, but they are similar though.
