I, and many people like me have been playing halo since the start of xbox live. Halo for me would be coming home from school and playing team slayer, trying to get my 32 (this was back in the halo 2 days)
Ive never really posted here, Im not even sure which account this is, but I really think that 343 dont really understand what made halo great, what has gone wrong is a lot of small little things, not big changes.
It seems as if they see halo as being made up of 2 large groups the casuals and the MLG kids. The problem is, is that while i loved 4v4 ranked team slayer. i, and many others HATE MLG, i find it stale, i hate the bland symetrical map and the monotonous drone of Br battles. Halo is 4v4 on maps like turf, Highground, Lockout, standoff, guardian, not 4v4 on some perfectly symmetrical map where all the weapons are brs or sniper rifles. which brings me to another point, post halo 3, a lot of the maps are very dark, grey and well, depressing, if you look at the best past maps: Turf, Ghost town, standoff, relic, highground, midship, they have all been colorful or bright, not dark and grey like abandoned, vortex, sword base, adrift, meltdown.
OH and if you get the chance to play Valhalla again, you realise that it actually looks better than Ragnarok,especially the river, wierd. Also why are there no weapons on the maps? it leads to zero choke points, and basically people playing on their own trying to get a kill streak to get a new weapon, this is just basic map design ffs
I wont go on about ranked, but i mean, common why is it still not here? and I hope you realise that its not in-game right? and also if it works in all playlists how will JIP affect it? if you get put in a game where you are 12-49 do you de-rank???
While im here ill just list all of the stupid things about this game:
Plasma pistols in big team, or as a loadout weapon
Plasma grenades as a loadout grenade (also if a lot of these loadout weapons were
pickups it would make the maps more interesting)
the idea of a boltshot as a loadout weapon
sparton opps using the same 6 year old netcode as halo 3’s campaign…
active camo
jetpack (works on some maps ruins map flow on others, works well in bigteam thou)
quiting in the map selection screen (especially in team throwdown)
Shipping with more btb maps than 4v4 maps despite saying “4v4 is the bread and butter of halo” nice…
also please make more 4v4 maps with variety it was always nice playing team slayer on standoff, then going to guardian, then to valhalla, then to blackout, then with a finish on narrows or highground.
thinking of all the bland recent maps does make me rememeber how varied the maps were in past halo’s you remember relic, or termianl, or zanzibar??
its such a shame how far halo has fallen
anyway back to playing haven for the 1000th time…
